    Same point in progression? No

Method and Exorsus are on a completely different progression point as everyone else.]
Alpha is on a different point as everyone else
Everyone else who got 8/9 are their own point

Not necessarily, it depends on what level of gear Blizzard anticipate the boss being killable with.

If Avatar is killable at 931ish iLevel after a HP nerf, surely the original un-nerfed form would be killable a few weeks / months on with 940ish iLevel, once everyone is maxed out on gear, etc.

It just depends on the time scale Blizzard want bosses to stand for.

No boss appears to be tuned around having BiS / high TF in every slot for it being "killable" these days, whereas Alone in the Darkness probably wasn't tuned at all, Blizzard's expectation being it would be the brick wall after Algalon which they correctly assumed would stand for a very long time and require BiS gear on 25 people. Avatar apparently wasn't supposed to require weeks upon weeks worth of tomb mythic WF / TF gear to be beatable.

There's also the fact that 25m Alone in the darkness was basically bragging rights only, by the time you could beat One Light in the Darkness and Algalon you already had access to the best gear available at the time.

Im sure right now with their method have they would be able to kill Avatar pre all nerfs

Only 2 players from WoD Paragon. Rest are from old Memento(merged with another guild after EN or ToV) or some other finnish guilds.

still some sizeable class stacking going on for avatar kills, so i'd suspect that a guild unable to do that will likely need 932-934 avg ilvl to meet requirements.

You can see that by checking progress points.

Not to say that EU teams are always totally mature though.

The main purpose of US guilds in PvE races has always been to create drama for us to consume.

And beta test on Tuesday for the real guilds starting on Wednesday, give credit where it's due man.

you guys underestimate the sear damage nerf a lot. It has a way stronger impact than the 5% hp nerf. To play mechanics with the old sear damage version capped the fight more or less @ 4 stacks. If we take methods performance into account, it would force them to bring the boss below 19% when P2 is engaged (in his pure original form). From methods perspective and in relation to their dps both nerfs (sear+hp nerf) are worth 15% hp.

beta-testing on the first few bosses doesn't really count :P

Conjecture, obviously, but more gear would have equally helped with the sear damage through healing, vers, avoidance & leech WFs / TFs etc.

Paragon's world first LK 25hc kill only became possible once the buff stacked up, but that didn't stop them getting more gear and killing it without the buff a few weeks later just to prove it was "mathematically possible", just more of a gear requirement.

Not really, Method was the ONLY guild to kill it the first week.

Exorsus and Aplha were the only ones to kill it the second week.

How exactly is Alpha on the same level as the guilds who killed it on the third week?

To be fair Midwinter got world 1st Iron Maidens kill in BRF. Then again that's prolly the only relevant US kill since BL's kill on grand empress and we haven't seen anything worth mentioning after that.

They were at 92% after a few wipes and at 90% now?

NA vs EU is surely fun and fresh topic, but are there any spoilers from method or exorsus? 5% wipes? Secret phases? Anything?

Korean guild AFK R with Avatar World 7th kill. Seems like the combination of nerfs, kill video release and gear enables a few guilds to catch up.
