842 wipes on Avatar at 500g per rune means a cool 8.42 million gold for all raiders together. Not really that much if you sell gold carries after progress.

What I wonder is who the fuck is farming those runes so that the guilds can even buy as many.

Top guilds have helpers also that farm that for them for progress. You see 20 man roster and alts. There are more people involved than you think.

More of the good players are either stoping or either going casual... The replacement for those players are lfr players....

The quality has always been shit. I was 11 years old during tbc and I was raiding in international guild as non-native english speaker. Needless to say I wasn't that great player at that age either. Still were in core team of one of the few guilds in realm that got into T6 before attunements removed + cleared sunwell pre nerfs. How bad were the guilds that couldn't even clear T5?
