They didn't drop out, they reduced hours, but that's part of the race. Which team can keep up the hours for long enough. That's a core part of the race. Method wouldn't have been able to do those hours for much longer.

The big armageddons are physical dmg so cant be soaked with cloak. Only with Cheat death.

A lot of Avatar pulls were just pushing into p2 to practice/set stuff up, not actual kill tries. Wipes on Avatar are hugely skewed and shouldn't be taken as an indication of it's difficulty relative to KJ.

That makes no sense at all...
If you can't get into P2 so easily, you would need MORE tries because you always need to get cleanly into P2 to even learn it.

The bigger reason for so many wipes is most likely that the boss was not possible for their gear before the nerf the night before the kill.

Nobody in that guild was going for it at that point, they were in the race the same way as random rank 10k guild was in the race. They were there but irrelevant.

They didn't cut half their hours. That's bogus, even the hours of their kills doesn't support their claim that they went casual.

They said their hours would be reduced, as of a few days ago, until then they had gone just as hard as Method, but they couldn't keep up with the hours, and pulled back a bit.

You're saying that like Exorsus have been doing half the time for weeks now, when that isn't true at all. They kept the hours up, and couldn't keep up, and had to lower. (But a few people have seen them online and raiding just as much as before they said it, so it's assumed the hour drop was as of monday, because it has been the weekend, and they didn't reduce as many, if any hours from the weekend raiding)

This is my point, read it again...
If you can't push that easily into P2, you need more tries, so Avatar P2 tries are less than without that possibility. I think Method took over 800 wipes, without that they would have ended at more tries

Can you link where the announced going casual? Like, where they ACTUALLY SAID IT? Because it was completely blown out of proportion after their GM said "we might consider going casual if pre-raid AP/legendary farm stats the same" which it didn't.
