I am not moving goalposts. I am merely saying that there is no concrete evidence as of yet - all you have is a guy saying "I don't know" if she left the docs. When they do know, and have the hard proof, then you can state it as fact. Until then, it is just conjecture.

Now, if you want me to actually move the goalposts....

If there does turn out to be concrete proof that she left him some docs, I still could not care less. I don't care if Jr. DID get info on HRC (although by all indications he did not receive anything of worth, based on the fact that Trump never released some "bombshell" tweetstorm saying the DNC had financial ties to Russia - which is what the honeypot originally told Jr. she had the dirt on.)

Remember that impeachment does not equal removal from office and that impeachment is a lengthy process. The House at least would be busy with that until pretty much the midterms. In those, a party that just had their main man impeached might do much worse.
Mind you, I am just explaining a POV, it is not necessarily mine.

While Pence would undoubtedly do a much better job working with Congress and selling his policies to Americans, he hardly has any political capital banked up to push an agenda- he was under water in his own state when he joined the ticket, and in the event that the worst happens for Trump, Pence's ability to get things done would descend even further from an already low starting point. He wasn't Chris Christie low, but it still wouldn't be a good place to begin for a President Pence.

If the Republicans are going to cave in it wont happen until mid 2018 because I assume Ryan would be president until 2020 at that point. If they are tanking in polls for house seats and Pelosi has a chance at the White House bet your fucking ass they'll push it before that happens. Otherwise they ride the Trumptanic to the bottom of the sea and get annihilated in 2020.
