Should ALL instanced PvP be rated?

I am starting to think more and more that it would be a good idea.

    What do y'all think???

No, it shouldn't. It would remove the general casual membership of the PvP community. Not everyone wish to strive for a ranking.

You already have ranked arenas and battlegrounds, so leave the unranked alone.
FOMO: "Fear Of Missing Out", also commonly known as people with a mental issue of managing time and activities, many expecting others to fit into their schedule so they don't miss out on things to come. If FOMO becomes a problem for you, do seek help, it can be a very unhealthy lifestyle..

So how do you suggest they fix rated PvP then???

Make all have a ranking doesn't fix rated PvP, though. Splitting them apart, makes it maybe easier to fix rated PvP. Then again, I don't know what the problem currently is, as I stepped down from the rated race 1½ expansions ago.

No. Why do you think that'd be a good idea? There already is rated BGs and rated arena. Forcing rating upon random BGs and skirmishes would only subtract enjoyment from those who like to PvP casually.

the only thing that all instanced pvp should have is a HIDDEN mmr, so you at least get matched with similarly "skillful" people instead of bots everytime.

Popularity of non-ranked pvp is not the reason for the ranked's nonpopularity. This is the consequence.

So what you want to do is drive out those filthy casual pvpers, is that the goal? The consequence of that action will be to hasten the demise of pvp as a facet of the game.

You suggestion would solve nothing and would make things even worse for many.

You're basically suggesting to alienate a bigger part of PvP community for the sake of minority. I mean, even casual PvP isn't really a friendly thing, but it's manageable. Rated though, hehe...

Basically how I questioned it as well.

In all fairness, we don't actually KNOW if it would or not.

The difference between us in this way, is that I am not trying to claim that I KNOW what would happen in that case.

The problem is that a lot of people (like myself) don't even want to do rated, since it's such a cesspit of cheaters.

At least if everyone had to do rated, then it would FORCE players like myself into it, and since I am not a cheater, that means less cheaters in rated PvP.

It's really true OK, and rated PvP was hardcore taken over by delusional cheating honorless little bitches.

I have no interest to do rated in its current form, since I can just do non rated instead.

Does this answer your question there???

By actually making PvP attractive. It's a fundamental problem. The suggestion you have is a bandaid fix that would only anger people.

Blizzard should fix the clarity issues that PvP has. Primarily DR and interrupt timers I feel like would make it significantly easier for newer players to ease into PvP. Those things are short timers that you need an addon for to track that could benefit from official in-game timers.

Alternatively I think PvP would benefit from a small in-game guide that explains things a little bit such as DR timers and DR types. Besides that the problem I see many people have with PvP right now is that it simply isn't fun. I personally think that's because there aren't enough ways to actively outplay your opponent which can be very demotivating for new players when they can't figure out how to outplay their opponent and how to practice doing so. The game needs more things such as Anti-Magic Shell, Grounding Totem, Shadow Word: Death, Storm Bolt travel delay, Leg Sweep/Psychic Scream (able to outplay by predicting and teleporting away) etc. etc. Those are all abilities with mechanics that allow outplay opportunities and I think there needs to be more of these abilities in the game. It's a shame to see them be pruned since they're what make PvP fun.

Rated PvP population is a problem in many games by the way. Even in games like League of Legends the ranked population is tiny compared to the casual population. The majority simply enjoy casual competitiveness more than rated.

To say that it is "forcing casuals out" is absurd OK.

They can make the choice if they want to do it after all.

That's like trying to say that making the game more hardcore is "forcing casuals out."

Both of these aren't forcing ANYTHING lol!!!

If you want to play the game or not, and if you want to do certain content or not, are CHOICES that each and every player makes on their own!!!

Please stop blaming Blizzard for how pathetic you guys are (talking to entitled casuals here).....

Getting rid of non-rated would likely drive out enough people that Blizzard would have a hard time justifying continuing to support PVP. Just like the existence of LFR allows Blizzard to justify the investment of resources for the creation of raids.

I find it funny how some of you are SO SURE that your ideas concerning game development are good ones.

Do you realize that MOST of the players in the game wanted it dumbed down???

How did that work out by the way???

    Epic fail much???

Hey, at least Blizzard was classy enough to try it that way, so they could PROVE that it wasn't good for the game.

All this to say that most of you have no fucking clue what is best concerning the development of the game.....

Wait, entitled casuals? Where do you get that? Perhaps you should explain fully your goal with this proposed change. Since you have failed miserably to communicate that.

You don't want to hear anything but agreement. Why the hell do your kind even post if you don't have the guts to look at counter arguments and discuss things? No, you throw a tantrum. /ignored

    Na, that's a damn lie!!!

TONS of casuals played (and had a good time) in TBC, even though it was more hardcore than Legion.

You lost the casuals versus hardcore WAR ok.

It's over, and the casual lose.

    DEAL WITH IT IMO!!!!

Well, you technically forcing them out by removing casual PvP, in your scenario there'd be either rated PvP or world PvP. There's no place for them to go.

Rated simply can't be treated as a casual activity, even in lower ratings. PvP in general is quite hostile to its participants, rated PvP is hostile af, hostility on roids.
