The OP places the context of this in the era of TNG, DS9, and Voyager. in that era red is the color for command and gold was the color for ops. So it's not likely someone in a command uniform will be killed in their away missions. Originally Posted by Sigma

I guess I'd have to choose pirate because most of the Federation ships don't look as good as some of the other ships and I want me a Scimitar with a modified interior.
Or maybe a Captain of a Caitian or Andorian ship.

Blue. Prolly of the nurse variety.
My favorite ship is Voyager. My favorite race are the Bajoran (I love their style). My favorite character is prolly either Tom Paris or B'Elenna. I was hella invested in their romance. Hell, still am.

Blue. Science division, definitely.
So many characters I love. Picard, a whole lot on Voyager. But if I'd have to pick one I'd go with the Doctor.
And I'd be aboard the starship Voyager. I think I can make the most difference there. It's proven very resilient and adaptable.
And as said, I love the crew. Sure, I may get trapped in the Delta Quadrant, but that has its benefits too. Stronger sense of community, for one.
