If a void lord looks like an enormous serpent of sorts (Biblical leviathan, nordic Jörmungandr) I am all for it. Sounds far more exciting than gigantic versions of warlock pets or pure darkness with toughts imo.

Could be, but they might not be eyes, could just be bulbs, like every Lovecraftian horror, those things tend to be covered in bulbs for no real reason other than to look freaky.

Another point that people overlook is the reference to the "six-eyed master" that some of the doomsayers spoke about during that patch:

Yes - this rings of Hastur in the Lovecraft universe.

Sidenote, but Hastur/The King in Yellow isn't a Lovecraft invention though, Chambers invented him, but Lovecraft adored Chambers.

You are absolutely correct and apologies - my mistake.

What I meant is that it comes from the same / similar universe.

    Thanks for correcting me tho.

I can only recommend reading the actual King in Yellow by Chambers, it's some freaky stuff, especially taken into consideration that it was written in 1890.

From the space that is everywhere and nowhere, the crooked serpent feasts on stars.
It could be the Twisting Nether. It's underlying the physical world, so it's everywhere, but it is nowhere since it's not part of the physical world.

With couple of people mentioning the King in Yellow I found it curious and decided to read about it.

Out of all the things that could be interpreted to have something to do with this, parts of "Cassilda's Song" from the actual play "The King in Yellow" are similar to what pamphlets say..

Along the shore the cloud waves break,
The twin suns sink behind the lake,
    The shadows lengthen
    In Carcosa.
Strange is the night where black stars rise,
And strange moons circle through the skies,
    But stranger still is
    Lost Carcosa.
Songs that the Hyades shall sing,
Where flap the tatters of the King,
    Must die unheard in
    Dim Carcosa.
Song of my soul, my voice is dead,
Die thou, unsung, as tears unshed
    Shall dry and die in
    Lost Carcosa.

Am I digging too deep? :P

it could be just a specie of monster evolved in another planet, and devour worlds in his path to th great dark beyond

sounds crazy, but would be nice something totally apart from this void/fel thing, i think its already satured, i would like to see a villain who is bad by himself

It's worth noting that neither the Old Gods nor the Void Lords are interested in stars since those don't contain World Souls. We've only seen them go for planets so far. My guess? The Crooked Serpent is something akin to the "God" of the entire WoW universe. It wants to completely consume the physical universe and the Twisting Nether so that the Light and the Void can clash again and form another universe and on and on.

Not sure if those things are eyes or not - Old God physiology is a mystery. Not that the lack of eyes is a hindrance, Yogg-Saron had fanged maws for eyes and seemed to get around just fine.

You know what I love. How people really are into trying to figure out what is Blizzard hinting at. I'd be the designer doing this "arg" thingy, and I would chuckle, and be on MMO forums all day watching people debate.

But keep going guys, seriously, its cool
