Bullying is always going to exist OP. To think that it is going to go away is unrealistically naive. Raise your kids to not take shit. If someone is bullying them, teach them to punch the bully in the mouth.

Not in any respectful neighborhoods. Topics like these just attract a lot of internet tough guys that have never been really bullied but overcame it when other kids called them mean stuff a few times and consider themselves experts.
To be fair though, the tough skin advice works in some cases since bullies get bored. But that usually only means they find a new target.

I have a daughter who starts kindergarten this year and its exactly that. Im going to try my best to keep her off the internet as well.

That is often not an option but at least teach them to talk about it, often you don't even know your child is being bullied before it's to late, they can be masters at hiding problems.

Oh please, Cyberbullying is the easiest form of bullying one can prevent. Children in elementary school shouldn't evne be on Social Media, let alone be allowed to put themselves out there. Taking a page from my family, I didn't have a facebook page, or in my day. A myspace page until early Jr. High. An I avoided all sorts of Cyberbullying. I didn't get yet another outlet of people to bully me outside of school. Social Media is not a necessity, and people like you who ridicule someone who, my god doesn't use twitter at the brimming age of 8. Are the enablers for this sort of garbage to happen.

Or for the love of god, teach your children the important lesson on the Internet. Be careful with what you put out on the internet. Cyberbullying can only use what you put out. If you are careful, you won't be targetted.

No different to social media. So why is it suddenly so excruciatingly difficult to just ignore on that? Why do idiots insist on accepting strangers and/or reading comments from some nobodies to them and take it to heart?

Sure, if these threats come to reality then act accordingly with the authorities... but the vast majority of it are just verbal cowardly nonsense to rile their target up, and nothing more.

Kids are kids, a lot of them have a nasty side to them while they're immature. Poking with a stick for a reaction, if they get one they'll continue... and if not they grow bored and move on.

To be serious if they're not old enough to understand why you don't bully your peers just take away their access to the Internet. Perhaps hiding away their save games would teach them a lesson..
