This is not a drill people! Bleach Live action is headed to Netflix!
Seems like us filthy gaijin will be able to watch Bleach this September. Honestly, I figured if we even got this film at all, it would be next year at the earliest. Glad Netflix are picking up the slack and bringing this stuff to us sooner, rather than later.
I mean, the film is probably going to be a bit shit... but I want to know for sure, not just suspect!

Apparently it's not bad. We have to remember, that arc in the manga wasn't exactly a thrill a minute, so they're starting off quite badly. if they ca make it WATCHABLE, that's all I ask. Throw in some good fights, hints of things to come, that's all I need.
It doesn't need to do well, it just needs to do well ENOUGH that sequels can be made, and the more interesting arcs can be adapted.

Bleach live action was solid. 7/10
Guy playing Ichigo was great, Rukia... not so much. Renji and Byakuya NAILED it. Isshin was excellent, Karin and Yuzu were adorable. Chad, ishida and Orihime needed way bigger parts.
The fights were as good as expected, the last battle in particular was excellent.
The film has one big let down though... they’re clearly not sure if they’re getting a sequel, so they couldn’t leave the ending as it was in the manga... so instead of the iconic Byakuya one shot, we get Ichigo doing his “I’ll never stay down!” Shit, while Byakuya repeatedly knocks the stuffing out of him, and the fight ends with Ichigo transferring Rukia’s power back into her, and they cap it off with everyone getting their memory wiped. Of course, they still MIGHT get a sequel, so they hint at Ichigo retaining the memories...
Overall, solid effort and I REALLY hope it does well enough to get some sequels. Because a Rescue Rukia live action would be awesome.

It's really awful. Just like a vast majority of modern Japanese movies. THey can't write or act for shit.
