Ugh I hate how it bandwagoned. It's the new Walking Dead, complete with the quality going down as the viewership increased and seasons went on.

I mean it's by far the best thing on TV but I really wish Martin would finish the damn books. The show has botched so many characters and plotlines.

TWD atleast sticks to its roots. Yes there were some changes and character's swap but story overall follows to canon. The irony for GoT fans who laughs over TWD.

It's not really disinterest in the series itself, more my intense hatred of cliffhangers. I typically don't watch anything until it's done.

It spans both concepts. On a 7pt Likert scale it would be around a 2 when it starts (ignoring the very first prologue of book 1) and progresses to about a 5 by book and/or season 6. At this point we have "elves" (CotF), ice monsters, undead, and dragons; blood, fire, nature, and ice magics. It's not the tippyverse yet, but it doesn't need to be to be called High Fantasy at this point.

Again, you really need to learn what "low fantasy" and "high fantasy" are. The show/books are both low fantasy. Low fantasy doesn't mean "no fantasy whatsoever." You know what else is low fantasy? Harry Potter.

these first two scenes/vids, are the first I was shown by a friend n convinced me to watch the show, I assumed it was some random crap fantasy show like Shannara etc. 99% of fantasy in TV is cringe af n garbage..so I missed the first 3-4 seasons when they came out but watch it all in a weekend.


I wish there was a longer version of this with dialogue but it's what I could find..

It's pretty much the only TV show I've watched in...gee, 10, 15 years now, and that only happened because a friend of mine gave me seasons 1-5 on a thumb drive for free.

It is not a show for the squeamish...and I like it for that, even in the very few times it's made me roll my eyes and/or facepalm in disgust.

Far from a perfect show, but it's still very entertaining.

The main arc is about a warg with a magic direwolf, a chick with 3 dragons that cannot be burned and their fight against frozen zombies. The political game is just a sidequest.

i've seen the first 1 epsiode and that's it, seems like something i would like but I don't have HBO and haven't bothered "Acquiring" the series yet.
