Im sorry, but I had to do this.
I wonder what the so called "experts" are thinking of this, as it seems like WoW won't go away, just because they leave.

WoW will be still here in 10 years time unless Blizzard kill it but its time as king of the MMO's is over and has been for a while.
https://mmos.com/news/superdatas-lat...e-free-to-play
This info is a year out of date but I doubt WoW has gained too many subscribers in that time, WoW is still very popular but as I said it is no longer top dog and it is mad to think it would have been on top forever.
Looking at that you know what I find hilarious? The fact that mobile games (that are already bad to start with just from being mobile) have made them over 3 times as much money has all the pc and console games combined.
... Are those games actually comparable to WoW though? Did it ever claim to sit on a throne over those games?
From the article though, so nothing's changed in reality; " World of Warcraft, on the other hand, continues to dominate the pay-to-play MMO scene, "earning more than double its closest paid competitor".
If someone asked me what MMORPG I'd recommend to them, I wouldn't recommend League of Legends. I'd recommend WoW, FFXIV, Guild Wars 2... maybe SWTOR as well if they enjoyed Star Wars... <.<

League of Legends is a Moba
Crossfire is a Shooter
Dungeon Fighter Online is a 2d Beat-em-up game
WoW is 4th on that chart.
League of legends would probably not have existed if Warcraft 3 had no custom mapping inventing DotA.
Just like Warcraft 1 was an improved version of Dune 2, and Warcraft 2 improved from Command and Conquer. (in it's own unique fantasy setting of course)

Eh. An MMORPG is a vastly different beast than a MOBA or Arena Shooter or Mobile Gacha game.
https://ffxivcensus.com/ claims ff14, which i guess is wows most direct competition in US/EU, has about 460k active players, so probably 575k subs orso. I dare say wow is still in the millions at least. polls on mmo champ are around 2m sample size these days.
WoW can continue what it's doing and it should look forward in reaching 25 years!
Been a long while since Blizzard made anything of quality. Overwatch is shit, it even looks shit. It tries to be esport, but it's not even close. HotS is godawful to play, it just feels wrong and leagues away from its competitors. Heartstone is probably good, but I honestly don't know.
So they have wow and starcraft:RM that seems to have their quality on them. As a business, and how a lot of the new generation loves to watch youtube gamers play games, I can't blame them from trying to earn a few bucks here and there. But the era of Blizzard = quality is over for sure. Glad they keep pumping life into wow though.
Legion released in the 3rd Quarter which consists of July, August and September.

There is the 2nd Quarter for this year.

There is the first. Mostly positive about what they have to mention about WoW. Revenue grew and more time was spent playing in both quarters.

And Warcraft universe probably not have existed if there was no J.R.R. Tolkien.
Anyway best selling and top grossing video games are nor MOBAs nor MMOS but video game franchises.
