No - WOW isn't designed to be played first person.

Does something have to be "designed for first person" to be cool in VR? No one said you have to raid mythics in VR, but to experience WoW in VR, I think, would be fantastic.

It never will because the engine was not made with it in mind over a decade ago. VR is also an overrated and overpriced bunch of nonsense.

It is perfectly possible to have a 3rd person view in VR, it just means that your view point is above and behind the players character. Originally Posted by Cæli

i'd give it a try that's for sure! Heck with full VR 1st person might not be that bad.

Did you try it? I've played a bit of Theseus VR (not a super game but shows some potential on VR) which mixed fixed camera angles with some scenes where it "follows behind your char".. pretty much third person but in this game it was way closer the char than WoW... it works and it works well... Definitely not, I would play NOTHING on VT with our current "technology" (motion sensor + screen glued to our head + 2 wii motes)
IF we develop more advanced VR one day, maybe... Could be cool for RPing above all else.
The endgame definitely wouldn't work tho, I can hardly come up with a harder game to transform into VR than mmorpg.
