Pay to get past what should be normal to do without paying?
Imagine if you just started WoW, had to get to 60 and then go to MC, BWL, AQ and then clear naxxramas before you can enter TBC and in TBC you would have to clear karazhan, the lair, serpentshrine cavern and mount hyjal before you can get to northrend, where you would have to clear naxxramas, ulduar, totc and the citadel before you can get to cataclysm.
It's a stupid model.
I wouldn't mind if it made you hit every content expansion, but only the main quest.
Like in Skyrim, you can complete the civil war without really doing anything else. If it was something like that, just to understand your environment and the politics, that would be ok.

Would work for me. I adored SWtoR for the way the story was told.

I was a model when I was 19-22 and used to get out of the blue messages on myspace. The one I remember the most was a guy claiming to be a doctor who wanted to take "tastful nudes" of me in his "basement photo studio" for $400. Never took anyone up on any offers. Figured I'd show up and get a syringe in my neck then wake up on a table with a 2 liter bottle in my ass.

I like the story line, but I feel like Legion is the first xpac that provided good storytelling. Maybe I was oblivious in previous xpacs and just trying to level too fast, but generally I couldn't tell you what the overall story for each one was.
I miss SWtoR. It has been the only mmo that has held my attention like wow and I really loved the questing and story progression.
