What made it seem interesting or new to me is that they could have used one of the Deathknights from the new HS expansion or something we know of, that character is entirely new. Basicly what am saying is new IP confirmed?! (lol)

I didn't say there would be a raid. Just filler content like Broken Shores or Argus (minus the raids) (but tied to the next expansion, like a very cool pre-launch event that has enough content for a 7.4 patch) to give us a few months of anticipation for the expansion. Since 7.3.5 would be around November/December.

Like if Kul'Tiras is a thing, and Kul'Tiras was just a little portion of the new expansion... I could see them making an entire patch after Argus that leads us there as filler content. Would be cool to "Get started" in terms of not leveling, or anything, but take part in a pre-expansion type of quest line / content.

The other theory is that because of how quick they're churning out content, and how the teams are now working much quicker/better alternating, it could very well be possible if 8.0 was announced, the expansion would launch sooner and wouldn't have an extra patch after 7.3.5

If I recall, Legion's invasions / initial broken shore scenario were kind of like that in the month leading up to launch. There's no reason they couldn't do something similar but longer / more content into next expansion.

Something about how they've been quickly knocking out legion content every 2-3 months, leads me to believe if 8.0 is announced, we'd have one more content patch (even if there's no raid) or the expansion would release sooner than we're used to.

Otherwise I fully suspect some kind of 7.4 content drop if 8.0 isn't announced.

It think it's fairly certain that we will have pre-expansion content and the usual 8.0 patch before the expansion hits. But it is very unlikely that we will get anything else besides a patch that offers continued gear progression (justice point upgrades like in WoD). Just because such content would be wasted and would have a short life time. It would be better used as part of the new expansion.

No, but it's the first time 1/3 of the thread is mindless trash talk about a Gamescom announcement and if they don't do it they MUST SUFFER PAIN BECAUSE THEY CREATED THE HYPE AND BLIZZARD WILL FAIL AND BLA BLA BLA.

Really would love to discuss relevant stuff but right now people are just winding themselves up with this hype.

So please enlighten what is that "relevant stuff" that wasn't already discussed hundreds of times? Old gods? Naga? Azshara? Jaina? N'zoth?
