No wonder we have so many people defending monuments to slavery.

You must live in Texas. They have done that in Texas.

The great-great grandson of Jefferson Davis said something similar on CNN. http://www.cnn.com/2017/08/16/us/rob...val/index.html

Can't forget about the fact that a lot of these monuments were put in place as a way to support Jim Crow and the segregationist movement, along with the formal return of a certain Confederate Battle flag thanks in part to the States' Rights Democratic Party(Dixiecrat).

TBH we should replace those statues with statues of WW2 generals. Seems like a win-win to me.

I don't have issue with this. Eisenhower could use a bunch.

I personally have no stake in whether some old statues get pulled down or not.

I do have to laugh my ass off at the accusation that the people who are in favour of removing them are "erasing history" though. They want those statues torn down precisely because they REMEMBER WHAT THOSE MEN STOOD FOR.

Maybe they could listen to them, they could stop the war that's brewing right now...

Guys we can't tear down these ancient, beautiful statues. Just look at this one of Confederate general and KKK Grand Wizard Nathan Bedford Forrest that dates back all the way to 1998. If it was an actual person, it'd almost be old enough to legally drink.

    OH GOD WHY

Forever in my nightmares. Crazy-ass motherfucker looks like he took every drug in Fallout 4 and is shown here raping a carousel, firing a cap gun, and farting hard enough to shit his pantaloons and he's okay with that.

It looks like a college-level art project the guy knowing he was going to fail anyhow made while chain-watching Steven King's IT and probably on mushrooms.

And look at that head-neck ratio. LOOK AT IT. I've seen less painful ratios in National Geographic.

There is a petition in Austin to have Robert E Lee rd changed to Whataburger dr, and change the sign from green to Orange /w white stripes.

I didn't give two shits about the statues and monuments, that's for the antifa and klan dip shits to fight about, but I do support the name change of the street because Whataburger is a TX state treasure and Lee wasnt, hes from Virginia FFS!

They know some kind of black magic because their fries can only be eaten with their own ketchup, if you try to use another ketchup, ANY ketchup, it tastes off and ruins your day.

I know what I'm having for lunch now.
