Okay, so, i'm glad some people chased the knife guy off the streets but i can't help but to feel disappointed that people would rather record the situation to their instasnaps and whatnot than help the victims or join the chase, or at the very least get away from the danger. Something is terribly wrong with our culture if likes on social media take precedence over stopping a atrocity in progress or helping the victims.

Yea it for sure is better if everyone is armed.

I meant it better to have a weapon to make the effort to defend yourself with than not have one. I learned this growing up in a very rough part of town in Cleveland when I was a teenager. Unless he comes up and stabs you directly in the heart, you will have some time to respond. Maybe enough to seriously hurt the attacker. Up close, one does not have to be that trained or good to shoot someone. It is not hard to point and pull a trigger. :P

Seriously. Just stop. Weather you are armed or not, if you are surprise attacked by someone it isn't going to make a flying fig worth of difference. If the guy has a knife and wants to kill you, you won't even know what hit you. If the guy is even remotely competent with that knife, there will be no "Time to Respond". There will just be blinding, crippling pain, followed by you writhing helplessly on the ground. Unless you walk around with your gun glued to your hand, finger on the trigger, with a round always in the chamber, you ain't doing fuckall to someone who stabs you in the back without warning.

Best case scenario, you have just been mortally wounded and the guy ignores you and goes off to stab someone else. Worst case scenario, you have just been mortally wounded, and the guy noticed you reaching for your weapon, so now he stabs you a few more times, searches you, and is now armed with a knife AND your gun. Good job mister hero.

Hell, even when you are armed and subconciously KNOW the attack is coming, you likely won't make it out alive anyway, as these Texas Pro-Gun Groupies found out when they tried to prove that if one of the Journalists who died in the Charlie Hebdo shooting were armed things would have been different. (Pro tip: They wouldn't)
