WoD was short for an expansion and lacked content. Blizzard have made pretty clear that they no longer aim for yearly xpacks. I doubt we see the next one until October/November 2018.

Eventually around middle of next year will be 5 months of a raid being out and some new content *should* come out. Legion would be shorter without the said content patches.

I hope you are right. It just seems so unlikely due to past history but....nobody expected something like WoD(The theme) so Blizzard can be unpredictable.

That would be 26/27 months. Thats too long. September at the latest. June-September is a good release timeframe. I think it will be closer to June though.

Every expansion lasts between 21-26 months. 23ish is the norm. I think they can do it in 22 this time. We wont know who was right for a while.

Blizzcon reveal in November and a June release has a 0% chance of happening. Expect about a year from reveal to release. Maybe 11 months at best. So October 2018 earliest.

I believe in a Q3 2018 release for 8.0. Q2 is too early and Q4 is too late. Q1 is already unrealistic (I'm looking at you, that one leak that everyone believed because it looked like something taken from an official website, while almost no one questioned how early the release date was)
