There is a huge difference between a 6min animated short video and a full length movie. And to be honest, I'm not sure what they could even do to make me want to watch a full length "Hearthstone movie".

I can maybe see Pixar doing something children might like but even then I seriously doubt they could make it that good. It is a card game after all, so they would have to go big on comedy.

What is the Hearthstone? Is it a spin off from Warcraft? Does it take place in the Warcraft universe?

And if i want anything Warcraft related i don't want it to be like a poor pixar's look alike movie.

Yes! Overwatch could make for an amazing movie if done right. A live action StarCraft Movie could be amazing as well.

I cannot stand this cinematic, i've had issues with Hearthstone taking Warcraft lore too far in One Night in Karazhan / Mean Streets, but this is too much.

I know that Hearthstone is noncanon and all that, but it's still part of the Warcraft franchise, this doesn't feel in any way connected to the Warcraft franchise.

Technically this short was amazing. On par with Pixar quality stuff. Thumbs up. The people who created this know what they are doing, and put a lot of soul into it. I cannot avoid having to respect that a lot.

My issue with the movie was, well... it felt like a commercial. Everyone was smiling like the drinks contained valium.You couldn't go 10 seconds without hearing the word Hearthstone being sung in the background. There was something very sinister about the tavern in my eyes as a result. Something cult-like. As if they were being über welcoming to the newcomer just to rope her into their nefarious MLM scheme.

But my main critique, it lacked a story. Compare it to the Overwatch short. That had the story; A plan. A cowboy-bebop-esque world tour heist to prepare for the plan. A revised plan. Another revision showing the insanity of both characters. Junkrat spending an insane amount of effort telling Roadhog to not screw up the master plan, and the first thing he does is to screw it up himself. Hoist by his own glorious petard. There was a definitive story to that tale, and it doubled as an explanation of why you would be escorting a pile of gold through Junk town in what I assume is gonna be an overwatch map.

I cannot say the same about the hearthstone video. It was 5 minutes of ... girl meets tavern? What was the payoff?

I enjoyed this animation quite a bit, but a full fledged movie, probably not.
However, I am so glad to see this animation over the Mulligan series they started. I hope they don't do any more, it was a real bust in my opinion.
