They should go back to two conventional raid difficulty (normal and "heroic") and have a third one called mythic+. In mythic+ raid, there is no loot, it's all about skill. Each classes and specs have to equip a standardized set of gear. Everyone is on the same item level. To make it more interesting, they could make a series of quests to unlock/grind every pieces of your gear. Just some really generic example: farm 25 mythic+ dungeon to unlock the chest, win 10 RBG to unlock legs, do 100 world quest to unlock ring#1, challenges, etc... Once you have all your set, you can enter mythic+ raid and start the race. Pure skill, only skins, transmog, title or mounts.

And the most interesting thing is that these mythic+ raid would stay relevant forever. You couldn't outgear them. It wouldn't be a system where your current gear get scaled down, but very specific items that you need to obtain. Split raiding is solved and WoW is saved.

Week 3: Heroic and Normal are opened. Top guilds have finished progressing and do not need to do splitruns therefore. Heroic gear helps other Mythic guilds to continue progression. Non-Mythic guild begin their progression on suitable difficulty.

    That way nobody is punished.
Rofl, sure, let's delay the raid for 99% of raiders because 1% complains about burnout...

I don't see an issue. It solves the problem of split raiding and doesn't penalize those who don't do it. 2 weeks delay doesn't matter considering that raid tier is more than 20. Netherlight Crucible and Seat of the Triumvirate are also delayed by 2 weeks.

There is really only one thing you can do to get rid of split raiding while not penalizing the majority of wow players, and that is to remove gearing from the Mythic race.

Make it a tournament like any other comp. where gear and player power is normalized, and the problem goes away - I don't think this is a good solution - as it removes player choice.

In the end though, this is a player problem, not a game systems problem. The fact that the top end guilds require this kind of thing is a problem of their own making.

Because we who don't focus mythic shouldn't be penalized? It's always been that the highest difficulty is unlocked after, all the way back to when heroic was first introduced and you had to clear normal first. Delaying normal and heroic so split raids don't happen would piss off quite a large portion of the community.

It also has nothing to do with things like the nc and dungeon, those unlock for everyone at the same time, locking heroic and normal would be like, yea you top. 1% who can even kill more than a couple mythic bosses without any heroic gear, you get to see the raid, the rest of you can fuck off.

They would seriously never EVER leave normal and heroic locked for three weeks to stroke world first egos

Sure, people who don't focus Mythic shouldn't be penalized. That's why I propose just to change the order in which difficulties are unlocked. It changes nothing in the long term. Don't see why to be pissed off. Anyone who wants can go to the Mythic raid and try some bosses (and first bosses on Mythic are always easier than the last on Heroic). Those who don't want can just wait for week or two. What do they lose in this case?

Another advantage of opening Mythic first is that the raid won't be cleared in two hours after being unlocked in US. Longer time to wait for rp and end cinematic, more hype for progress race.
