-Football is as American as apple pie. We will never give it up!
-Believes in gun ownership
-Strong military
-Support Israel militarily and economically but work for peace in the Middle East
-Rebuild infrastructure
-Renovate aging schools
-Enforce environmental protection laws. No lead in water.
-End the war on drugs
-Fully fund NASA
-Enthusiastic about space exploration
-US Flag on Mars by 2030
-Huge fan of the military space adventure genre. Mass Effect, The Force Awakens, and The Expanse.
-Thinks Capt Kirk would be a good president!
-Dungeons and Dragons never hurt anyone
-Venezuela should unban video games
-Yoga girls are hot! Yoga is not unAmerican!
-Antifa and the Alt Right should screw off!
-Plays video games but still manages to be a good father with a hot wife!

He is Latino (and Californian, which in the past produced Republicans like Schwarzenegger) and a "moderate" who has voted Democrat several times (based on info available on him). Thus by default he is unelectable and "un-American" for the Republican Party. While he would have fit in the Republican Party of yore (pre Bill Clinton) he is NOT representative of Republicans of today neither the elderly or the young ones (bunch of Bannon and Spencer admirers).

Unfortunately these past 9 months have convinced me that everyone who still self identifies as a Republican at this point is a morally decrepit shell of a human being who I would not never be publicly associated with.

Before I used to very much subscribe to the notion of a person can still be decent even if we disagree politically, but this year has proven me wrong when discussing Republicans.

I am not sure I'm down with supporting Israel beyond selling them weapons if they wish to buy them. Actively just giving them stuff seems like a bad deal.

Generally I can't see anything objectionable about this guy otherwise.

The only negative aspect about him is the support of Israel. There can be no peace as long as our bombs are being launched by Israelis into Pakistan. Especially when we're just giving them those bombs for free.

Other than that, he's a classical pre-Reagan Republican that I'm probably 97% in line with in my political beliefs.

Only if your take on middle east peace is "all Jews pushed into the Mediterranean" are these things in conflict. Unfortunately, that is the only position held by Palestinian leadership (remember, once upon a time, Bill Clinton had a deal in hand to give Arafat literally every one of his table top demands and he turned it down, because the point was to continue attacking Israel's very existence, not to have "peace" with it).

But I digress. Freddie Prinze getting involved in politics could be a very decent thing for conservative or libertarian leaning folks, and of course his wife is one of the best people in the universe.

I suspect that the GoP and Dems will each fracture.

GoP will split to old school rational GoP (Reagan etc) and Right wing nutter Republicans (maybe called the USNP or something)
Dems will split to old school whingy Dems (Clinton etc) and Centrist reasonable socialist/capitals combo (Bernie types).

GoP rational + Centrist Dems hopefully end up being the two winners, because otherwise the country will die.

I don't see the Democrats fracturing any time soon. Which means the GOP probably won't either, as much as they are in an existential crisis right now they would never survive if the US got a true third party.
