    Hmm. A trend?

Trump: Rich people 'will not be gaining at all' under tax plan

President Trump on Wednesday said that wealthy individuals "will not be gaining at all" from his tax plan, as he is working to get Democrats to support his efforts to rewrite the tax code.

"I think the wealthy will be pretty much where they are," Trump said, after a reporter asked him if the rich will see higher tax rates. "If we can do that, we'd like it. If they have to go higher, they'll go higher, frankly. We're looking at the middle class and we're looking at jobs."

Trump spoke about tax reform and other issues in a meeting with centrist House members from both sides of the aisle. The president said that the meeting would also include discussions about infrastructure, healthcare and the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

Participants in the meeting included the leaders of the Problem Solvers Caucus: Reps. Tom Reed (R-N.Y.) and Josh Gottheimer (D-N.J.).

"More and more we're trying to work things out together, and it's a positive thing and it's good for the Republicans and good for the Democrats," Trump said.
Well. I can't imagine Trump saying he won't lower taxes for the rich -- and that he might raise them -- will cause any trouble at all. Nope. None whatsoever.

So has Trump given up on the GOP?

If wallstreet believe this, we are looking at a segnificant adjustment. He needs to have that carrot in front of wallstreet or a lot of his economic plans are going to be inverted.

Silly notion for anyone, but Trump. This is a guy that in 20 years swung from liberal extremes of proposals of Oprah as a running mate in reform party, to the emperor of Kekistan. For him to align with democrats, would just result in a lot of reminiscing about the 90s. The guy is desperate for approval...

There's this hopeful part of me that's thinking someone sat Trump down and told him "Look, if you want to be remembered as a good president by more than just the shitheels of America, you need to start being a normal human being and looking at things from a rational point of view, rather than 'lol troll 4ever fuck Obama and dems!'" And - though still a moral black hole residing in a human shell - he realized the idea of being remembered as something other than America's skid mark was delicious to his narcissistic ego.

The realistic part of me knows the other shoe's going to drop.

The Tinfoil in me is thinking this is just a way for Trump to rub off his bad approval rating onto Democrats.

But, as is more likely, this does just seem to be a way to spite the GOP leaders for failing to deliver on Trump-Care (And other things).

Here's the problem people have already created a public image of him. If he starts to move towards the center after all the tweeting, primary antics, mocking disabled people, alternative fact spouting its going to look like an act. Republicans will despise the man and Republicans will reap what they sow not at the Federal level but all those purple state Governorship right before a census with getting swiftly booted out in 2020. Not only that even if he moves to the Center Democrats will still view him as the Racist who couldn't disavow Neo-Nazi which is a layup in politics and the guy who tried to be the bully and put everyone down. Democrats will not flock to him. Basically Trump is burning every single bridge in a town where you need all the allies you can get. Only reason Democratic leadership is working with him is they know how bad politically this is hurting the other side.

I rarely link Keith Olberman - but honestly this time it's worth it just for the massive list of terms the Media has used to refer to Dum-Dumb Dump possibly "changing" over the past months... Just go from the begining to 1:40 seconds for a pretty accurate laugh. :P

I was just talking with a group of friends and we all mused ourselves if Dumbass Donnie actually tried pushing to pass Bernie Sanders Medicare-for-all since the repubs couldn't do it... That would be a "oholyshit" moment for sure! Not that the current GOP Congressional/Senate dummies would pass it... >_<

This should be a thread but too late in the night for me.

    So much winning! MAGA!
Democrats are the best! I will never ever question a Democrat again. I LOVE the Democrats!

    Amnesty Don!

Trump knows how to negotiate. You start from an extreme position to gauge how much leeway you have and then you work your way back to the center.

Obama in comparison stayed firmly in the center and tried to build coalitions which is a good strategy in Europe but doesn't work in the U.S.

It's funny, Skroe keeps talking about how trumpkins are going to have their president taken from them, but to be honest he's already long gone. Donald Trump is a bullshit artist, any sane person could've told you this long ago, but right now its hitting his supporters in a way that even their thick blinders cannot block. He has sold them out, he is selling them out, he will sell them out more, and their "political revolution" couldn't be more dead if it was part of Steve Bannons' face. The Republican party too will pay a price, one that is wholly deserved for letting things get this far, and that should serve as a warning to any party willing to sacrifice values for short term gain.

As always, at times of significant political events I have a look at what narrative is floating among the ranks of my political opponents. This can help to understand their thought process, such as it is, and prepare for any debate. Today however, it is purely for entertainment purposes, the kind of which owes its name to the Germans. Here are some lovely outtakes from The_Donald:

    The first is fairly mild:
"Folks, he gives in on DACA and provides some kind of amnesty then I'm pulling the rope and asking off the train. It would have been a fun ride. And I could still say I had no regrets."

    To which another replies:
"I would. Some people really put themselves out there with certain research. I lost life long friends and have been disowned by family."

    Another:
"NIghts going through emails then making meme and sharing them on social media and seeing them spread on facebook. If he throws out his base i'm done. I hope barron is in the cyber tonight."

    More:
"I really don't see how this is 4D or 5D chess. I'm just disappointed at the moment"

Honestly I would say something like "tired of winning yet?", if it wasn't getting so stale. Maybe I really am.

Trump "winning" like this isn't stale. It's just overcooked. You have to use ketchup.
