Rule of Cool. Give players the choice between having Blizzard respect their own lore (kek) or "badass" mount, they'll choose the mount every single time.

Gameplay/content trumps lore every single time. As it should be if you want a popular game. The vast majority of players don't care about lore. They care about cool stuff. Blizzard gets this. Seems you don't.
