Death needs to end. Long live immortality!

Even Death may die.
well, people are against full cyberization, and genetic engineering for various reasons. So we'll just have to wait until they die off.

Immortality would be terrible until we solve overpopulation not to mention I'd think living for ever would be boring in the end.
If I was death and had to deal with these people I would rather die.
hmm lets see immortal dictators.. totally looking forward to that
The theory is that the first person to live to 200 has already been born. People live longer, even more with the level of practical genetical therapies we have available atm and those that are still in development. For society it's a huge deal, maybe even as big as industrialisation. Currently society is not built for people living such long amounts of time, and I can only hope that I'll also still be around to witness a possible turning point in history.
I can support this 100%

Living that long isn't the problem, its what state you're in if you live that long.
If you are able to be productive well into your 100s, then its no issue.
If you live to be 200, but you spend 115 years in a nursing home, bed ridden, getting pumped full of drugs to get to that point; that is a problem.

Yea, that's an important part of the issue.
Another big thing would be overpopulation. Even if we just double everything (so retirement at around 130-140) we'll still have twice as many people as we have today as the death rate will be significantly lower than before until it stabilizes again in another 100-200 years orso. I doubt that's gonna go over well.
