Thought it would be more clear if I used transcription, my bad. It's basically "ti" as in "tip" and "rand" as in "random" - "ti-rand". The stress is on the second syllable.

I pronounce Mob wrong all the time. The word is short for mobile, but everyone I know, including myself, pronounces it like in saying 'the mob', as in gangsters.

To be fair no-one knows how it was pronounced by whoever came up with it, back in the days of MOOs and MUDs, because it was all text, and when people see the letters "mob", they say "mob" as in gangsters, because to say "mob" as in mobile, you'd have to have something indicating an extended vowel, like mobe or moeb.

Mob is right, even though its the shortened version of mobile. In 12 years of computer games and MMO's I've never once heard it pronounced "Mohb".
