Drones was a lot fucking better than that shit fest that was 2nd Law. Even though it had some rather cringe songs towards the end, it's a badass album in terms of how well the songs were constructed and the musicianship of the record. Kinda hard to beat Origin of Symmetry and Absolution though.

I Liked the Elite Tauren Chieftains more then the bands... Blizzard should get an orchestre to play their soundtracks or bring back the Elite Tauren Chieftains! Blizzard needs geeky Bands or their own band (Chieftains) to play there <.<

The geeky audience wants geeky bands and Blizzard fans are all geeky.

They use music that fits with flow of the moment, not necessarily with the demographic of the audience. Muse has been used in many things including World War Z all the way to Episodes of Doctor Who, as have many bands. Just because a band was used in a crappy movie doesn't make them less of a band lol.

Haha, I can tell you this much. If you're stupid enough to think anything I wrote was a personal attack on you I wouldn't have any need to insult you, you're making yourself look quite a fool all on your own!

Read what I actually write instead of what you think I'm insinuating for once, not every post has a hidden agenda or anything written in between the lines. The moon landing did happen and Elvis is in fact dead!

i have never heard of Muse. I went to YouTube to hear what kind of music they play. They are okay. When I attended Blizzcon 2007, that was AWESOME! Elite Tauren Chieftains played, and you had the Orchestre there that played music from all three (Warcraft, Starcraft, & Diablo) venues. Blizzard also had the group that did the Tavern Music there too. All three were AWESOME!! I would say don't bother getting modern rock or pop groups, keep it in house with ETC. That's my 2 cents.

Can someone tell me who this is? I've never heard of them, and I'm twenty-nine years old.

Confirms what I suspected - they're much, much, much more well-known and well-liked in the UK than the USA.

I really like Muse, but I feel like no band is the right fit for that audience. I agree with some other suggestions about music from the games being played. It's just not the right environment for a rock concert, the audience is completely disengaged aside from a few who really like the band that year. The only "band" they've had that seemed to get an overall good response from the audience was Tenacious D. I'm looking forward to watching the concert but it is a bit on the cringe side to watch a group try to respond to a completely disinterested audience.

Impossible to please everyone in this case. I'm not a big fan of Muse but they are clearly a very talented band. Certainly talented enough to not be a bad choice for Blizzcon....

    Seems OK.
And yes, tastes differ. You cannot get one band to please everyone.

I'm not so pedantic to judge a show by the clothes the front man is wearing?
I'm glad I'm not with you either.

    Glad we sorted that out.

Question to people who have attended Blizzcon in the past and watched the band of the year: what's the sound like? Is it anything like a typical rock concert in terms of quality and volume? It's hard, and kind of sad to imagine Muse being pared down to fit into such a relatively small and meek setting. They're a monstrous live band and I hope Blizzcon's setup can do them justice.

Too bad the closing ceremony is at an awful time for Europe and there's no VoD on the virtual ticket either. Would have loved to see this, but I don't think I can stay up that long anymore.

personally i only like (as in don't mind listening) very few of their songs, because in most of them their singer sounds very whiney.
but my opinion doesn't matter that much as i'm not really into attending conventions.

Gah i LOVED Muse as a teenager, their older songs are still great (perfect for drunk karaoke)
