In my area, that's a fast-track to a minimum wage job. I don't know about you, but the overwhelming majority of decent, not even necessarily good, jobs require a bachelors at minimum.

The response is pretty indicative of a certain level of privilege. No, not white privilege, so pre-emptively enhance your calm before anyone freaks out about "BUT YOU'RE BRINGING UP RACE!", but financial privilege. I'm not sure if you've ever been pretty dirt-poor, but the "just get a better job!" argument isn't remotely valid for hundreds of thousands/millions of Americans who don't have better job opportunities and can't afford to move somewhere where they exist.

Damn, that's pretty awesome. I don't know of any place remotely like that around me (Bay Area), though we've also got far too many people looking for work who are overqualified so you're getting folks with years of experience frequently getting entry-level positions that are intended for fresh grads etc.

This may be true in bumfuck nowheresville, but in most metropolitan areas this is enough to get you a minimum wage gig at Starbucks or the grocery story or something.

Move then, and not to bumfuck nowhere, either. A lot are hiring people with high school diplomas (I hire people plenty, have to constantly check wage comparisons across the country loosely, and in the immediate area a lot).

Let's take a previously discussed city in this forum as an example; Charlottesville, VA. Nice city, close to multiple other cities and towns, low cost of living, lots to do. Several very large companies there all hiring exactly what I had mentioned before. Some are very similar jobs and pay to what i mentioned, lots of openings. I know, because I check rates there as the city I live in is very comparable, and we have to be competitive. Hardly bumfuck nowhere. And the list goes on and on. I have to check monthly, there's no shortage.

There's a ton out there. Just move out of the metropolitan cities a tiny ways and make an attempt.

The society of the US does owe things to the people. People are owed the ability to get a basic education. They are owed to be able to work in safe environments that don't discriminate. Had 3 people on Facebook just like you, whining about jobs, I spent all of 2 hours with them and got them off their lazy ass, then all of a sudden they had a job a week later. It's fucking easy, just takes the slightest bit of effort into searching, then a little more to maintain a job.

In Western nations, if you're not working, or don't want to work, you get government assistance, in a communist society they would be working the fields, day in, and day out.
