    you dont have access to most of the abilites, that make controlling the field fun the first few levels

    tbh, i struggled with my first group, went in blind but straight into tactician, my cleric felt worthless until i started using widow and mage felt even worse, because he had no synergy with the rest and couldnt controll the field as a single caster up until like 15 or 16. scond playthrough is much smoother and I actually made an effort on the ship fight to kill all the mobs and loot the chest behind dallis before timer runs out, was definitely fun

    but if your issue is really that you dont like this turn based style, then yes, the game is obviously not for you.

    Patch 3 is here, and it´s a big one! But big is good because this update should address the most important issues you’ve been flagging. In addition to the obligatory bug fixes and balancing changes, this patch contains a number of content changes that should make your journal clearer and your journey through Arx smoother.

    • Improved and added several quest status updates in the Journal
    • Fixed several quests not closing properly or when expected
    • Spider legs now correctly prevent player from getting Webbed
    • Tweaked frequency of certain automated dialogs
    • Fleeing from combat now pops up the waypoint menu instead of moving you to nearest waypoint
    • Added several improvements and hints in Arx that tie people together, and that introduce places and characters (e.g. added a thief corpse/ghost in the death-fog storage room)

    • Lobby browser now shows map names alphabetically

    • Fixed crash that could happen when putting parent containers into child containers
    • Fixed crash when you accept a party invitation from a client that has left the game

    • Fixed a crash that could happen when loading game or returning to main menu (destroying AiGrid)
    • Fixed crash if you choose to sleep again with lizard after you put on all equipment and the thieves were already killed
    • Fixed a Story Patching issue. This prevented certain previous storyline fixes to not be applied correctly.
    • Fixed a blocking issue in the Hall of Echoes: not having the cloud appear after completing the third part of the ritual and talking to a God

    I didn't have any trouble with that when I was using a 4 origin party. Is your friend taking control of loshe and then talking to them? For me it only triggered sabells story points when I went to talk to some one she knew she wanted to talk to then it gave me an option to let her go ahead or hold her back.

    It might be because her going berserk isn't something she knows about before so it's different I know sebeel knew every one she wanted to talk to so she went ahead where loshe wasn't looking for some one she knew so mabye it's different. That or its bugged for loshe is my bet.

    I might have missed it, but one thing I was REALLY hoping for was an option not to have everything you pick up auto-add to your Skill Bar. I HATE having to constantly clean it up, or forgetting to clean it up then using something like a Polymorph skill and have to go to the Skill Book to find it.

    Yah, that is really annoying especially if you play polymorph; gotta find your abilities three bars down. There is a mod for it but sadly this patch didn't fix the problem.

    there is an option on the settings for this btw. I don’t remember exactly where, but it’s there.

    You can play it both single player and online.

    You can choose between pre-made characters with extra quests/origin or make your own. In multiplayer you host a session and others can join and make their own char or choose a premade one.

    I decided to start over on Tactician mode and go with a full physical DPS party. My main will be the 2-Handed / Warfare / Polymorph / Persuasion, Ifan is Ranged / Thievery, Beast is Geo / Hydro / Warfare / Telekinesis, and Lohse is currently Summoner / Warfare / Loremaster (but I plan to make her into a stabby-Rogue soon). Chewing through Physical Armor is a lot easier than you would think since Shield Toss hits so hard. And once that Physical Armor is gone, the fight is basically over since everyone has a Charge and/or Battle Stomp to knock enemies down (amidst other Physical CC options like Petrify and Chicken Claw). The only regret I have so far is that I miss the cool spell effects...also, being back in Fort Joy I still have half a party without any shoes. =(

    Honestly tactician is pretty easy if you do it as second run, especially with physical oriented team. Everything that could ambush or surprise you is known ahead and being familiar with mechanics and gearing pretty much makes it gg.

    There was some noise about how tactician is oh so hard, but it died out really fast, if anything I'd say they should have boosted health/armor/damage increase for enemies to 100% instead of 50% starting Nameless Isle and it still would be fine.

    Player damage, especially physical is just scaling faster than enemies defenses. That's why, ironically I consider that fight in jail at level 3 on the way to the boat to be the hardest encounter ingame, except for maybe driftwood arena when you have whole your team perma-blinded.

    For maximum cheese, take 1 point in Scoundrel for Adrenaline for everyone and Pawn for some. Adrenaline is nerfed hard but that extra two AP round one will make some kills from the get go and that will basically pretty much end most fights right there, penalty next round won't matter.

    Bonus - extra point in Scoundrel for Cloak and Dagger because personal teleports are great and having extra is very useful.

    I'm past Act 1 now, albeit I kinda had to cheese the battle with Alexandar. Basically the worm showed up and killed 3 of my party members on his first turn. My fourth kinda just hanged around in the back murdering isolated Magisters as the rest of them beat up the worm. Then I rezzed my party and finished everybody off from afar with Sybille.

    Also I already feel the sheer amount of stat scaling in this game. The Red Prince did about 30 damage per swing at level 5, at level 8 he now does 85. Apparently it gets even worse as the game goes on, with weapons even one level behind current doing 30-40% less damage.

    For most I take Executioner instead of Pawn, but I do like the idea of Pawn...just hate how they exclude one another. But yeah, I usually give people a point in Huntsman or Scoundrel for access to mobility skills. Having someone with a bit of Aerotheurge so they can Teleport or Netherswap Enemies is also pretty damn awesome.

    But you are also right about Tactician not seeming super hard as a 2nd playthrough. Getting comfortable with the mechanics is huge, as is getting comfortable with the idea that you need to upgrade equipment regularly because gear scales hella-fast.
