Playing Stukov in QM. Enemy team is melee heavy with tons of dive, so I go for Spine Launcher at 1

Our Ana immediately starts the shitshow about how my talent choices are rubbish - of course, he was a Stukov main and Master player, so he knows what he's on about!

... he proceeds to die 11 times and still do less healing than me

Don't think draft was your problem, just bad team mates. Fuck, I'd love a set up like that as opposed to the solo Bwing with 3 ranged dps I usually get.
Disagree. I think their draft looks very much like a loss already on paper. If there's one tank, you can't have a four man frontline into, it's Arthas; and while dual support is a valid option, Uther being one of them is anything but ideal: he already get's overwhelmed by either Lunara or Naz as solo support. Playing against Lunara+Nazeebo you need ultra hard engage to basically insta-lock and kill the Naz - Kerrigan, Butcher, maybe Samuro, no Artanis.

It's the weaker draft concerning waveclear - even if the Valla has no excuse having 20% of Nazeebo's siege and 20% of Yolodan's xp and it's the weaker draft in the immortal race. Of the three win conditions on this map, since you lose on lane PVE and objective PVE, only PVP remains. Since you can't reliably get around Arthas, you have to blow him up, before your team is low due to poison - looks as if that didn't work out.

Dropped from Diamond recently, and the fall continues. My most recent game. Garrosh wanted to go Decimate, I kindly asked him not to, since I sincerely believed our assassins would be able to do damage if we had enough CC to keep them doing damage. We did. They still did no damage. I have to say I don't believe I've EVER had more damage than 2 assassins combined as a tank. It was 52% of team fight damage on our team. How is it even possible? I don't know. Enough said that the assassins didn't believe they were at fault here and that we're losing because they deal zero damage. Obviously the numbers on Garrosh and Lucio were also poor, but not uncarriable. It's not even that the opponents were good. I had cases of walking in 3v1 against full HP guys, getting a kill and getting out. They were weak, but my teammates were utter trash. I just don't understand how did they possibly get plat, and I say that knowing that plat in HotS is probably equal to LoL's gold at best.

3 melee + Abathur, with a Chromie on your team, and your Garrosh didn't take Taunt?

What the actual fuck is wrong with people?

LOL, so I am winning solo lane super hard the entire game on Dragon Shire. Sonya gives up after 3 minutes to switch with Nazeebo who loses too and often needs help from Gul'dan to get something done.

We lose and I am to blame for loss because I was solo entire game while rest of team was losing 4v4 whole time. I guess, adjusting to a simple Judgement + Leap combo on our Morales is super hard.

I couldn't leave to fight as Nazeebo was staying in lane as much as he could to stack his quest and Malthael sucks at sieging anyway.

He said he would go Decimate at the start of the game, I asked him not to since it was obvious we needed more CC for Butcher and Chromie. He did take taunt.

I always lose games where I am first pick. People just can't build a decent draft.

  11. #4531
Why the fuck does someone play ranked only to play one hero? I picked a Nazeebo as firstpick on Infernal Shrines. Lastpick lost his shit because he wanted to play Nazeebo, irregardless of whether he could actually pick him last or not. So he picked Murky instead of a tank. You can guess how that went....

Why do these people even play ranked?

    - - - Updated - - -

And the loss-streak continues, with 2x 6 deaths in 12 minutes on Tomb of the Spider Queen. I swear that people are becoming blinder by the day in this game. I guess the increasing queue length is due to people quitting. I don't blame them.

    - - - Updated - - -

And I'm demoted to Plat 4 because people can't not die. I will absolutely hit Gold this season.

    - - - Updated - - -

Guy on my team early-picks ETC. I pick Uther, as one does.

    He goes Stage Dive.

    - - - Updated - - -

I win one game. One long-ass game. Best Diablo game I've had in a long time. I feel really good about everything.

Next game, we have a Varian main who refuses to swap to something else when we need it. Zagara goes "gg" at 5 minutes in, despite us being equal on xp, leaves, and then comes back 10 minutes later to flame and ensure we actually do lose. Oh, and Varian went Smash in a comp where Taunt would have helped us out a great deal more. That game gave me -214 points.

    The universe hates my existence.

    - - - Updated - - -

Game after that? I get matched with the Zagara again.

Decided to play some Nova, got into QM, our Sylvanas immediately says "Nova trash hero GG we lose"

    Proceeds to flame aaaaall game

Even when I am ganking left, right and centre and am double the kills and damage of the next person in the match. Even when I am 6-voted MVP.

    Salty ass.

First game of the day: 6 minute queue. I firstpick Sylvanas on Haunted Mines. Draft continues well enough. Last two on my team are up. One guy prepicks Tassadar, the other locks Tracer as a response. Lastpick changes to Zeratul at the last possible second because apparently the Tracer "lost me my last game", so now he has to ensure that they lose again by picking Zeratul. Game lasted 23 minutes. We never stood a chance. I topped siege, hero, and xp without even really trying.

Blizzard needs to clamp down hard on this kind of behaviour. Hero League is dead in the water as it is right now.

    - - - Updated - - -

Aaand demoted to Plat 5. I'm in range of Gold 1 people now! Wonder if I'll get to Gold this season, I've never reached that before.

    - - - Updated - - -

I am down to a whopping -16 games on my win/loss ratio this season.

Why do you keep doing this to me, Blizzard?

WARNING: Yes, it's a rant post.

What's happening to this game? Not only the queues are getting longer, chat more quiet and I'm matched with the same people all over again but most of them are simply awful. I don't expect you to know every single talent, have reaction time faster than speed of light, focus on this game as if it was your second job but I think I can expect from a level 300+ an ability to counter pick and generally build a decent team comp, no? Or at least an ability to use their brain. MOBA is not all about fighting, it's also a strategy game and many fail to understand that. Forcing a team fight EVERY DAMNED TIME? You got it! Completely ignoring match objectives? Yeees. Refusing to comunicate? Of course. Trying to win? Hmm, nope.

Is there a new MOBA similar to HOTS that everyone quit it for? And are we getting swarmed by all those awful players that buy high level accounts?

Heroes 2.0 brought in a ton of new and returning players, and the matchmaker wasn't built to handle that. Especially not after Blizzard refusing to do a hard reset after beta ended and the game released. A lot of these players were still riding their Rank 1 MMR into games they should never have been in. Match quality has been utter shite since then, and it's just getting worse and worse with the decent players being fed up and leaving left and right. There's currently not a gamemode in the game where solo-players can climb in a constructed fashion. I hope Blizzard announces some HL-related changes at Blizzcon next month, because Hero League will be dead before the end of the year if they don't.

35+ minute game on Garden with a Butcher who would only fucking PVE all game long: running circles and doing camps. We won in the end, but he had like 1 kill 10 deaths and his meat quest less than half finished. On the other hand, he must have done ~20 merc camps.

That's sad to read. I also wonder why isn't HotS more popular overall? I rarely see a new player. Is it because of the early days of HotS? I think it's a current trend in general - to release a game early and then update it further with the money it got during launch... but if the launch content is too small / too buggy / not something people have expected (and it happens often) it most likely won't overcome the bad taste no matter what. Exactly this happened to D3.

We don't have any official player numbers since Blizzard isn't releasing them, but they've kinda painted themselves into a corner. Quick Match is, well, quick and easy to get into, but you get some crazy imbalanced matchups that discourage a lot of people. Hero League is a mess thanks to a string of bad decisions on the side of Blizzard. Team League is only really fun if you're a full team of 5, but then you have to wait obscene amounts of time to get into games. That leaves Unranked where everyone congregates. Solo-queuers, partial groups, and the tryhard groups of 5 that can't be bothered to wait for the TL queue to pop. There's honestly not a whole lot of incentive to hold on to new players currently.

The whole ranking system in this game is horrible, you personally can only do so much but you need to win so often and can adjust so little to improve your chances it's mostly annoying experience. Honestly, that you can still get a high ranking easier by forming a premade and plowing through quick match with little to no effort compared to the time it takes in actual ranked mode is just silly.

All they seem to do is look at what other moba's are doing, while not being comparable to them copy it over and hope for better results, i mean the whole demotion and promotion system makes this experience even far worse.

Had a great game two days ago. Completely silent lobby for infernal shrines. We had Jaina, Stitches, Azmodan, Uther (me) and Sonya prepicked. Ended up with Jaina, Tyrael , Sonya, Tyrande (me), Rehgar.
Can't remember enemy setup, but they didn't had much peel and had KT and Malfurion definitely.

The game started silent, we all rushed towards mid to get early pokes, managed to take down a tower, got 1 kill and lost Rehgar (i managed to get 5 stacks on E), then Sonya went to top and Jaina moved to bottom. Before first shrine we managed to get 4 more kills via roaming. No chat communication - single ping to a lane and Rehgar and Tyrael react to them, we move to unsuspecting victim and murder it.

First shrine - it doesn't look good, we are way too separated, enemy already sit on the shrine as 5, we have only 2 guys (Tyrael and Sonya) on it, we understand that we are 20 seconds too late for this party... i thought that (as usual it happens) Sonya and Tyrael will jump in, die (maybe take someone with them) and we'll end up with 3vs4 without anyone tanking but... They didn't, they silently sat in the smoke clouds, waiting for us to approach. Count number goes up... 30... 33... 36... we engage and wipe them all with surgical precision but they manage to get the Punisher.
This keeps happening again and again - the only lacking part from our side was mercs, Rehgar was too busy roaming and stopping convection from stacking (announcing amount of stacks every now and then) and Jaina being late with her RoF (but usually Judgement+Lunar Strike+Doge bite was enough to take down Malfurion and secure the teamfight).

It kept happening through the game but we just couldn't push fast enough, game dragged out, both teams are 20+, we understand that our advantage is blown away so we start making cheeky kills on separated enemies (get 7 stacks of shooting stars, approach unsuspecting enemy, drop lunar strike on top of his head, as soon as stun disappears he'll eat another 1k+ lunar strike which kills almost anyone). Then we blew it.

We successfully pushed top lane with Fallen Shaman merc and Khazra merc into enemy Keep and we got attacked from two sides - me, Jaina, and Rehgar were tagged and drawn away from gates to the keep by Azmodan, Kerrigan and someone else, but both Tyrael and Sonya kept pushing. While we were too busy dealing with these 3 we were too late to notice what's happened to Tyrael and Sonya. Rehgar started running to throw Ancestral Healing but it was too late. Sonya and Tyrael, both at less than half HP. Both stunned by KT, grass sprouting behind them, Twilight Dream unveiling and convection-complete double flamestrike beginning to form under their feet. And to secure that - a giant Globe flying over our heads to finish them off. All of us died, except Rehgar. He managed to finish off wounded, greedy Kerrigan and started returning to base at half health. He stopped.

We had our base somewhat safe - all lanes were on enemy side we had all out keeps intact, but they were 4 against Rehgar. With extremely strong push from Azmodan and KT. Rehgar decided to do something crazy - leaving enemy for 60 seconds like that would end the game, it was more than enough time for them to just punch through everything and finish. Rehgar continued to do what we started doing on top. He demolished the keep, and as soon as enemy got to our keep he started punching enemy core forcing them to retreat. He waited patiently until it's too late for them to cancel hearthstones, exposing himself to danger, but managed to escape anyways. He was our hero, he saved the game.

I respawned with enough falling star stacks to get an easy kill but i needed someone to make sure that enemy can stand still for about a second. Rehgar took some camps instead of hearthing, so i came to him and typed "bait KT" in chat as soon as i spotted him from Shadowmeld. Rehgar froze in place. KT started walking towards him. I aimed my Lunar Strike at the position he would take to throw in a stun and it worked, 3 more auto-attacks, second Lunar Flare was released and KT died. Now it was as easy as rightclicking the core.

We won this and it was the most satisfying hero league victory on this week.
