No no, I'm sure when feminazi was the big thing on the internet that all these people who are supper offended at the overuse of the term nazi were all about defending feminists, right? RIGHT?

Tl : DR - No one cares about these crocodile tears when the people being called nazis these days were the worst perpetrators of it for a few years there.

When it comes to those supporting the alt-right I always have to ask myself "If these people are not neo nazis or support them. Then why do they also use the Alt-Right tag which was coined by Richard Spencer as a means to make his openly admitting white supremicst neo nazi views more main stream?" which basically boils down to one of two options.

    A) They actually are bullshitting about not supporting Neo Nazi views of Spencer and his ilk.

    or

    B) They're too dumb or delusional that they can't see or are in denial about what the alt right is.

Out of the two I don't actually know which is worse because both seem to be immune to education over it.

So, this game is literally about "making America nazi-free again". Just like previous part was about fighting them in Europe, because they won WW2. There's no "technically", no "well that's true, but..." It's exactly what is says on the tin and uses a phrase from a famous politician in a context that fits it perfectly. And yet there's nearly a thousands posts, with many of them arguing that it refers to a specific part of American demographic, dehumanizing them and - in their mind - encouraging violence against them.

Being from a country that experienced Nazi's terror firsthand, fuck yeah I love to kill them in a video game. Probably because I realize the difference between fictional characters (who are almost universally acknowledged as the bad guys *for a good reason*) in a fictional scenario and "Trump supporters", who are not a hivemind with a single mindset. But I do find it funny that there are people who constantly complain about SJW, PC culture, getting triggered and safespaces, doing the exact same thing they accuse others of - getting angry over a irrelevant issue on the Internet. A video game marketing campaign. What a glorious display of hypocrisy ... and over Nazis, too. Couldn't find a more noble goal to defend...

That would depend on your tactics. If you oppose them and and think their ideas are disgusting and even wan to peacefully protest any rally they hold then there is no issue. However when you act like Antifa and engage in violence to counter what they decide is hate speech then there is an issue. Freedom of speech is a right and yes the first amendment does protect hate speech. It however does not protect you if you want to hit someone who disagrees with what you say.

I dunno. That torture scene was pretty offensive. The Nazi already knew BJ was gonna kill him. Sure, the stuff hurt, but BJ had no idea if anything he was told would be true or not.

Moral of the story; You don't start an interrogation by telling the victim you're gonna cut them to pieces in the end anyway.

Not sure what you mean by how the vacation. In terms of my reply I was commenting on being anti-Nazi in general and not the game specifically.

As far as people being offended by the game, we are talking about Twitter remember. The place is troll central, so I doubt the Twitter posts are by people who are actually offended, but by trolls who are capitalizing the medias current obsession with Nazis and the alt right.

The alt right is a tiny portion of the population and if you grouped them all into one town there still probably wouldnt be enough of them to get their candidate elected mayor, but if you pay attention to CNN or MSNBC you would think 50% of the country is part of the alt right. the media is giving this tiny fringe group far more press than it deserves just to boost ratings and further their own political agenda. So is it any wonder that you have trolls who play on that to get attention for themselves.

    Fucking hilarious.

P.S. I started playing the previous entry a few weeks ago, it's been gathering dust in my Steam catalogue for ages. One of the first missions is you strapping a Nazi informer to a chair and laying into him with a chainsaw...

Disturbing, not offensive. I mean it's not the most grotesque image in the Wolfenstein series. That woman who's face gets fucked up is a godly awful image.

See how this works both ways depending on who you ask? America might just want to realize again there's not only black and white.

People are using "Make America X Again" for everything now. Its been a joke since Trump first started saying it. Bethesda used it in a very fitting and accurate statement about what their game is. The game is about removing the Nazis that took over America now (in their game world) just like previous games were about removing them from Europe. I don't know if any of the people getting upset about this even know what the game making process is like. Bethesda didn't turn on the TV and see Charlottesville and say, "Quick! To the drawing board. Let's pump out a fully realized anti-Nazi game." No. They have been working on this for a while. You could try to make the weak "timing" argument, but really, the Neo Nazis are going to complain whenever something like this comes out and frankly, no one cares. Honestly, there's what, 2000 of them in the country? Maybe? Out of over 300,000,000 people? The majority of the "offended" people were never going to be the market for a Wolfenstein game anyway.

I'm confused, isn't the entire point of Wolfenstein to shoot up weird sci-fi nazis?

"Way to make it political" it's like if they made another mario party game and people got upset that it takes place on giant game boards and involves mario characters. That's the point.

I will be a little critical of the original twitter post though, I don't think America was ever entirely nazi free so it might be hard in order to be nazi free again when it hasn't happened in the first place.

The thread is about a statement directed at one side, though. No need to whip out your tu quoque just yet buddy.
