The fatal flaw in this reasoning is that by doing so, he doesn't draw criticism because he failed to stand, but for the hypocrisy of failing to stand after blasting others for not standing.

Getting into an expensive university is a mark of scholastic achievement if you aren't already filthy rich. Meanwhile, Trump's family was not only rich, but well connected. He didn't attend as a freshman; he transferred in: which means that he did not have to meet the high bar on SAT score that freshman applicants have to deal with.

Another kick in the balls to this argument is that the commencement did not list Trump as graduating with any kind of honors whatsoever. Which means he wasn't even close to being the top of the class, which was widely reported for decades.
