It's fun to speculate. We've seen plenty of TV shows and movies do crazy stuff with hidden vatican loot.

The vast majority of what they have is probably boring and full of made up bullshit. These are men from a very long time ago who are considerably less knowledgeable than the average person of today. They didn't all have some magical insight into the workings of the universe. Maybe some of it would have been shocking for the time period. Basic things that we all already know to be true that was suppressed at the time.

I imagine they do keep secret a few things the general public isn't aware of. But, it probably wouldn't live up to everyone's fantasy.
