Assuming they go the island chain route. Unless each individual island is huge I hope they don't require you to use the ship to get between them. I want to be able to see other islands when I'm on one and if I really want to I want to be able to swim/fly between them.

That's where they could use the skybox tech. Show the island in the distance. As for swimming (and later on flying there) they could make it after you go a certain point into the ocean it teleports you far off the coast of the island you were swimming towards. Tho I guess they could change how distance terrain loads and integrate some detailed skyboxes that fade when the terrain itself start loading and just make the distance between zones so huge that you could fly it if you really wanted, but it would be faster by ship.

Hollow would mean there's nothing there, if anything stuff being there would be good and not need space ships and obviously a new world of sorts.

I meant hollow in the sense that hollow earth theories "work" - the planet is a hollowed shell where you can walk on the inside as well as the outside. Double the area. Plus dinosaurs, naturally.

I get it, but obviously it wouldn't work exactly like that since we walk on Azeroth so many times.



OT: I had a very absurd idea for an alternate reality, in theory it could happen for WoW but it'd be more spin off ish for those at Blizz that want to explore this idea more but not with the bad taste of WoD. >.>

For context: Blizzard just shipped a text-only change to the versions file for wow_beta that changes the version to 8.0.0.25338.

This is text-only, nothing was actually shipped as this is likely just testing for BlizzCon build, but oh god my heart.

8.0 technically officially confirmed, though!
