How the fuck would an expansion that involves massive, massive changes to the factions the leaders and their territory be filler? If anything dicking around on a beach is filler.

Because it doesn't make sense to wage war right after both factions have cooperated to destroy the Legion? It's a Cataclysm 2.0, essentially a filler.

My guess is after going for Stormwind and fighting to a stalemate, Sylvanas instead sets her sights on Kul'tiras.

That or whatever third party stops the fight retreats there.

A 3rd party taking advantage of it definitely could work. And said 3rd party could also take over Orgrimmar to keep it even. Both lose their capital.

How fun was it to see people arguing over the legitimacy of Tides of Vengeance?

Reading everyone's comments, especially on reddit, was some of the most fun I've had in a while. It was really hard not to say anything. Two people even made a video about it...

I've been horde since I started playing. So my thought was "Time to remain horde."

Woah, who would've guessed Sylvanas would do something evil, unfounded and uncalled for? It is not like it has happened before.. right? Right?

That being said, my usual perception of her as a villanous and malicious, yet well-written character is just getting bolded through this. However, this is exactly what we needed; more faction conflict. Take the ball away from huge threats, Old Gods, titans, Void Lords, Naaru and try to simplify it. Turn it into some good old resource and conquest-based story that doesn't have a higher purpose behind it other than surviving and winning.

The one thing that catches me by surprise is that we'll possibly end up having orcs lead by Saurfang raise their voices against needless violence. Who would've thought that orcs would be the ones trying to advocate an undead high elf from starting a war.

Saurfang will possibly become the Horde's pre-MoP Jaina.

I'm just curious what this is all leading too...obviously this will create some faction conflict but we all know that the entire expansion isn't going to be HvA. They need leveling zones/raids/dungeons/etc...and all of that needs some sort of common enemy.

One thing I'm looking forward to though. Jaina coming back in the middle of this invasion and being all "DID I NOT TELL YOU FOOLS!?!?" and then blasting Horde soldiers left and right with some Thunder King power.

Embracing the classic Horde vs. Alliance aspect of the Warcraft universe would be very cool. For so long (too long) they've gone with storylines of ' we need to band together to eliminate a shared enemy'.
