It's not that I want Blizzard to do badly, but their revenue calls are written in such a really horrible lawyer-like fashion. They are deliberately hiding things and making numbers seem better than they realistically are. I suppose their main intention is for investors, but still.

They kinda slipped up by using the "stable" comment though in regards to WoW, "stable" is the best word they can use for WoW, that implies that without the new content the player numbers were in freefall, which means they're likely in freefall right now. which means they're going to be in freefall all the way until the release of the next expansion.

I wonder how much lower WoW numbers can go, seeing as in the Legion Earnings call they said something along the lines of: "Not as bad as the Previous expansion drops" signalling there was still a massive drop, considering WoD was the largest drop in the games history.

I mean, there has to be something wrong with your reading comprehension. Or you know, you're seeing what you want.

A stable number has neither large increases or decreases, and while it's safe to assume that the number of players is always going to be higher when a patch releases what the earnings call actually says is that in Q3 (which includes the 7.3 release) the MAU was at the same level as in at least Q2 (with 7.2 just released and ToS opening).

You might not want Blizzard to be doing badly but you most certainly do want WoW to do badly, even if you won't admit it to yourself!

What the panel is referring to is more likely to Sylvannas and Jaina, who technically ARE 2 of the most powerful women on Azeroth and they're the key characters of next expansion.

I have to wonder what sort of sad saps react like this to the natural in-game story evolving into featuring female characters.
I also have to wonder what sort of PATHETIC saps gets so up in arms and feels so threatened over "powerful women".

The fact that an expansion featuring female characters through the natural story progression gets people so riled up, shows clearly why there's a problem with how some people look at women.

I know most people here are terribly dumb, that's the burden of playing a MMO. But you understand that what you say not only makes no sense but is illegal ? You can't lie to your shareholders. It's really not in their interest to try something like that, especially with how good their results are. No point into creating a even bigger success than what they produced.

But I understand you're salty and those results don't fit into your "blizzard is dying" narrative.
