Until last year Blizzcon has been carried by World of Warcraft. It dominated the opening ceremony and for good reason. Last year what did we get? A small insight into what was going to be talked about. The opening ceremony isn't a panel solely for WoW anymore. Overwatch, Heroes of the Storm and Hearthstone command plenty of time and attention.

What else was there to reveal/discuss when WoD was announced? Mists? Cata? Wrath?

10-15 is an absolute guess but a general introduction and conclusion, other titles, a possible new game revealed? Not much time for an expansion reveal. I'll gladly eat my words if it is revealed in the opening ceremony but I have my doubts.

Edit: but admittedly looking back at last year's, I'm starting to question everything lmaoo.

Overwatch and Hearthstone are going on on their own stages. The main stage (mythic) is all about WoW. It's an hour expansion reveal. The 'What's Next' is virtual ticket exclusive and no way they'd hide the reveal behind that. That'll be about what's going to happen in WoW between now and the expansion release.

Yes. The Pre-Show is not really officially part of the BlizzCon schedule. First "real" hour will be opening ceremony including expansion reveal.
