I hit the play button on the launcher and see the login screen for 5 seconds nowadays :\

Still though, I'd like for something new. Maybe two alternating log-ins because I just can't choose. Teldrassil aflame with horde siege tanks and goblin shredders and the other being Lordaeron's front gates with alliance banners, ground littered with arrows weapons and embers.

Maybe viewing Teldrassil from a distance on a horde ship to get it in full view.

The Wound might be a cool idea, or an open ocean first-person shot on a boat with Kul'Tiras or Zandalar in the distance. Complete with rocking motion to induce log-in sickness.

Whatever it is, I expect it to be a location associated with the end game that we won't see till near the end of the Battle for Azeroth.

Recent examples of this being the Mogu statues for MoP which were a huge x marks the spot over the heart of Y'Shaarj and the felguards guarding a portal on what is assumed to be Argus.

Possibly the coast of some shadowy island that turns out to be a passage way to the God of the Deep.

It says we're drawing the corruption out of the blade, and there's still a PH model (purple cube) for the sword on the updated PTR.

It'll probably become an uncorrupted version of Sargeras' sword.

Early version of the sword actually used the red instance portal model (presumably as a placeholder). It now has a custom thing there in-game.

WoWHead didn't do their research. The model is there (the same one as on live) it's just still encrypted on PTR for some reason.

It's hard to pinpoint what it could be, seeing as the whole expansion has a lot of potential login-screen material. New allied races, Horde vs Alliance conflict, new zones, and there is not an immidiate threat like in previous expansions. The only threat we really have is eachother.
My guess is therefore that it will be something with the theme of "Horde vs Alliance". Like someone already said in this thread, a banner of each faction on each side of the screen is a good example, however I do not think that that guess in particular will be the case.

Probably a close up on two worn out alliance and horde banners, with embers or something flickering on the bottom of the screen, and a red cloudy sky in the background.

Bonus points if they went for something snazzier (like a still battlefield with teldrassil burning in the distance. One could only dream...)

I hope Blizz recreates that image for the loading screen of the Azshara raid.

Doubtful. Blizz has historically been consistent.

It's a terrain shot, sometimes with a portal.

Lordaeron makes the most sense as it's the event that kick starts the expansion.
