You assume that I want to see people all for the same reason. To be honest - Stephen Fry is the odd one out for me as I want to talk to him for purely personal reasons (we share the malady of severe mental illness). The others I want to talk to for more practical reasons and to find stuff out.

Challenge Mode : Play WoW like my disability has me play:
You will need two people, Brian MUST use the mouse for movement/looking and John MUST use the keyboard for casting, attacking, healing etc.
Briand and John share the same goal, same intentions - but they can't talk to each other, however they can react to each other's in game activities.
Now see how far Brian and John get in WoW.

I guess I'd stick to contemporary folks that I could have a meaningful conversation with.

Saving the fourth spot, as there's no doubt someone I can't think of at the moment.

I want to meet any life form that enables all life to never have to suffer again. I don't know if that is only four or not, but being able to meet them and thank them or being able to help them would be awesome.

Which theory is that again? Because there´re many different assumptions in which way timetravelling will change history (or not).

And to keep up with the topic:

    1. Albert Einstein
    2. Soras and Shiro from No Game no Life
    3.Quaintana from Drowtales (a webcomic)
    4. Sam and Dean from Supernatural

Holinka or Greg Street - with a Bottle of jack Daniels. Just to get in to the Head of those guys and ask questions. Prob. Unpleasant Questions . . .
Michael A. Stackpole - to ask a lot more questions about his creations
Cynthia Rothrock - bcs. of shared name and passion
The God Emperor of Mankind - to get some things straight and to ask for his name

Socrates, Churchill, Lincoln, and Nietzsche pre-insanity.
Populists (and "national socialists") look at the supposedly secret deals that run the world "behind the scenes". Child's play. Except that childishness is sinister in adults.

    4. Jesus (if he existed)

The top two are the ones I would value the most since they were amazing people who really strived in their own ways to improve the world as much as they could.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure even while Dictator, Caesar didn't take a military guard with him in the city, you're probably referring to his lictors. As Dictator he was entitled to 24 of them, 12 inside the pomerium (but I'm not sure if he would've obeyed the latter, Sulla didn't).

However Caesar took several steps to attempt to placate Rome that he wasn't trying to set himself up as a king (eg, refusing the diadem from Antony in some sources). Lictors are a direct and obvious symbol of imperium, so being surrounded by them all the time would be a constant reminder of his power as Dictator. I believe he was unaccompanied by lictors in part due to this, also as a show of force (ie, I am so loved by the people that I need no guards).

Also I'm not sure if lictors actually came into the Senate building with their magistrate or just remained outside, so probably they wouldn't have saved him. The Senate building guards were posted outside and the first they knew of the assassination was Caesar's body being dragged outside.

Plus the assassins were supposedly 60 strong. And had he had guards around him at all times they probably just would've found another way to do it.
