At first i thought it meant he ran over the attacker to save the woman, if that was the case im all for that.

But it sounds like he ran over a random guy to save this woman? yeah fuck him, should be charged.

Reading the article it says he ran over the guy who had the knife
I’m on the fence for this, he did save someone life but he also drove away instead of waiting at the scene

True, but they aren't letting him off scot free. I think they made the right call here, the death resulted from him deliberately intervening to protect someone, that isn't manslaughter. It also wasn't an accident that resulted in death, he ran over the person on purpose to protect someone else, so dropping the "resulting in death" is fair. He is still being charged with drunk driving, fleeing the scene of a crime, and they added dangerous driving. That is fair, he is guilty of those things and should be accountable for them.

Oh if he ran over the guy with the knife then i don't care, guy did what was right imo.

It might be the phrasing, but "ran him down" seems to suggest that the guy with the knife stopped attacking and tried to run. If this is the case, charges should be pressed since the present danger was removed.

If the guy with the knife was hit while directly attacking other person, then charges should be dropped for homicide.

Doesn't mention either but one of the pictures caption says "Dario Romero was struck and killed in the early hours of June 7 in west-end Toronto"

    Really offensive as well.

Using lethal force to save a innocent life, of course should be legal. I have the right to defend myself with lethal force if I am attacked and can show my life was in immediate danger. This is a basic human right all countries should honor.

Top 5 what? And wtf does that have to do with anything? I am saying if it was not a city in Canada you would have kept your mouth shut.

You're lying. Toronto is one of the safest global cities.

    Apologize.

Didn't read much but I presume he ran over the attacker and not some random person who was in the way?

    In which case, fair game.

    Real life trolley problem.

Challenge Mode : Play WoW like my disability has me play:
You will need two people, Brian MUST use the mouse for movement/looking and John MUST use the keyboard for casting, attacking, healing etc.
Briand and John share the same goal, same intentions - but they can't talk to each other, however they can react to each other's in game activities.
Now see how far Brian and John get in WoW.

The only reason people aren't freaking out about this is because he got lucky and his assumptions were right. What if the man was emotionally distraught because the woman had poisoned his children? He had absolutely no clue why the man had a knife and was chasing after her. I'm glad the scenario worked out the way it did, but trying to be a vigilante doesn't always play out the same as it does in our heads.
Most likely the wisest Enhancement Shaman.

So the lady wasn't attacked at the bus stop and a guy didn't run over and kill a person while drunk, all in Toronto?

He used lethal force to potentially save someone's life. His weapon of choice being a car shouldn't cause this much confusion.

Guy did his duty as an upstanding citizen. Shame on him about the BAL, if there's actually proof he was intoxicated at the time.

I'm not going to endanger my life to stop a knife wielding maniac if running them over is also an option.
