They were built up as presenting themselves as something different than they are today and if they're taking orders from foreign governments that's a little different from being a plain business.

Well, let's look at the big picture; Facebook began as an American business entity but has become a global institution. Should Facebook be beholden to any particularly country? If Facebook chose to endorse ISIS, would that be considered treason? Same goes for Twitter. If either of these companies begin endorsing interests or ideologies that are contrary to the rights and freedoms of the American people, you could make the argument that their presence in this country should be brought to an end.

I'm almost certain that I was being targeted by a meter maid a while back, because I never noticed people around me with tickets for the same violations. Edit: Yes, I did go down the whole street looking at everyone with the same violation.
