Too many people have put years into youtube. It will take a lot to get people to give that up. Those that can are doing so already.

People used to put their children in front of the TV before youtube. Only there it was OK because if a TV channel somehow played porn or videos of cartoons being tortured before bedtime, that channel would be fined heavily, issue a public apology and everyone involved would have trouble finding a job. Yet the new form of public media just runs with it and doesn't give a shit.

While that is true to some extend, they didn't watch it everywhere and every time. I've seen enough kids by now that get pacified by that method whereever they go. Even with both my parents working I never spend more than a hand full of hours a day before the TV, even when I snuck down to watch it, without permission. Some of these kids spend literally every waking moment before their tablet.

dude, the 90s gave us batman the animated series, gargoyles, animaniacs, rugrats, darkwing duck and x-men, it was a freaking awesome time in cartoons.

Today we got shows like Star vs the forces of evil, Steven Universe, Adventure time, MLP, Gravity Falls, The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, just to name a few, so yes, you can find good quality cartoons any decade if you actually look.

Regardless of what they call themselves, they are a publisher of content, which opens themselves up to huge civil and criminal liability for the content the provide.

Plenty of decent 2010s animated shows: MLP, Regular Show, Adventure Time, Young Justice, Gravity Falls, Samurai Jack Season 5, Rick and Morty, Legend of Korra (and The Last Airbender if you want to go further back). Hell, Nickelodeon's even bringing back a few 90s classics. There's a Hey Arnold Movie coming out and I think both Catdog and Rocko's Modern Life are getting rebooted shows or movies.

One thing I would like to see more of would be more adult animation. The fifth season of Samurai Jack which aired on Adult Swim last year showed that it can be done and there are a lot of people who would be willing to watch shows like that.

also, that cunt running this foundation to scare advertisers away from certain programs and platforms, i would take him and put him in jail for this. him and his foundation need to be stopped, and advertisers need to be forced to straighten the fuck up.

not a single goddamned person looks at a coke ad on a youtube video and stops even consider for a moment that coke endorses what will be said in that video. nobody thinks that. they think "i wish this shit would hurry up so i can watch the video". same shit with tv.

My kids are young 2 and 5, and will occasionally sit and watch Disney clips on youtube, usually the clips with the song. They watch on my phone, and I'm usually in the same room making dinner or doing laundry or something.

I'd be pissed if something like that was on autoplay and they accidentally started watching something like that. Thought to be fair, I'm the type of parent that would simply be more observant next time... knowing that kind of shit happens. But if youtube wants to do a better job of classifying and rating content... good for them.

The ice king is no worse than any other cartoon villain that attacked under age characters and kidnapped people. Tons of character have attempted genocide like the dude on the smurfs but we brush it off like a joke.
