Nobody ever accuses the RNC or the rest of the GOP establishment of being Nazis themselves, the argument is rather that even if they aren't racist themselves they depend on racist voters to get elected, and so do not immediately denounce or distance themselves from these elements of society when they really ought to.

There were definitely hard leftists that were anti-Bernie on the grounds that he was too white or something, but that's kind of a different thing.

Here in good ol' Wisconsin, we've got some interesting socialist roots, with Sewer Socialism and other prominent socialist movements. I'm fairly confident that the cultural remnants of this are a big part of why Madison's such a fantastic city.
