Boub, does this mean that you and the WorldofRaids crew are going to be co-producing stuff together? I for one hope that their Blue Tracker gets integrated into MMO-C's Blue tracker. Some reason I really like their setup (that and you can comment on blue posts in their tracking system). WoR were talking on their site how the main Art director of the company has some nice layouts for MMO-C going on on some Beta servers. Cannot wait to check those out

Things are always promised during a merger or acquisition like this. Those things that are promised are not always held to, however.
After that little RealID stunt Blizzard pulled last month, I don't have much trust for companies making decisions in the best interest of the customer anymore. Most of the world operates on a "money is king" mentality, it's sad to see the gaming industry* throwing themselves into that more and more. You can make a profit and guarantee success without selling out.

*gaming industry is more than developer companies, it includes fansites and many other aspects.

So I just registered to write my first, and at the same time my last post after years of visiting MMOC almost every day.

MMOC is, for me at least, dead. I'll never look back, just like I never did with Curse when they started to do their "things".

Interesting... I've been considering getting this curse premium thing for a while now but there's still too little to justify spending that much money on it. Now with MMO-Champion part of the deal, when/if you offer premium content someday.... might actually do it. Now if they also bought wowhead .... sign me up.

But you know what - I'll just say this; it's been swell, but I avoid Curse.com for many reasons - including the now-unblockable ads covering every inch of your front page. I have no illusions that this will remain a free site - it won't, in my opinion. They never do when they make a step like this.

I'm not interested in watching you go the way of Google, of Youtube, of DeviantArt or any of a half-dozen other places that have sold out completely.

I know - I'm no one. Not even extremely active. But this will be the last time I post on the forums here. Perhaps one day in the future someone will build a site like this where Curse won't ever be part of it.

Watching how this progresses will be interesting to say the least. Could work out alright, could work out the way all the people shouting "we're doomed" seem to think.

I have some faith in the WoW community at large though. If this turns into your average "sold out disaster" a new site will spring up somewhere somehow by someone, word of it will spread and the majority or MMOC users will eventually find their way there.

Lets hope it dosen't come to that.
For now i'm just hoping this turns out alright and we can all keep enjoying our daily updates courtesy of Boub till the end of time. Which at this point seems as likely as anything.
