question about group finder and "whispering leader with exp"

So I love the group finder option in WoD, as it allows you to basically progress without needing a guild or a regular play schedule. What I don't understand is I see all these listings where the description says "you have to link me or whisper experience to get in", but there is no option to link achievements in those little text boses, and you also can't whisper the leader without actually being in the raid first. Is there something I'm missing here or do people not realize that they can't get whispers until they invite the person?

Just like in the guild panel, you can right-click their name and a drop down menu appears.

Those are the sort of groups to simply avoid altogether, much like "ML, item x reserved" or "22k dps or kick, don't be bad" advertisements.
