Is this post a troll? So you want people to make a guild, invite as many players as possible and then the GM has access to all the mats for personal profit? You dont see the problem here?

    Think before you post.

I don't mind the garrison, but they need to add more to it. As it stands there's all of two things you can do with it:

Follower minigame build (Barracks, Bunker, Salvage Yard, Inn) or PvP (Stables, Mage Tower, Glad Sanctum, Storehouse).

Barracks, Bunker, Salvage Yard and Inn provide the most effecient way of getting followers, upgrades and increasing the outpout of the follower minigame. Useless once you have 675/675 on every follower available, swap out the Bunker for the Mage Tower or Stables once you hit that point and either swap out the Salvage Yard for Storehouse or another profession building if you already have an Enchanter's Study.

Stables gives you additional movement speed to catch players up and no daze meaning you won't lose a kill, or be killed, because that mob you can two-shot dazed you for reasons. Mage Tower gives you the crit buff out in the world, mainly for ranged as Melee won't often stand still in it, Glad Sanctum for the additional combat benefits and safe fall and Store House so you can get 6 days worth of Glad Sanctum tribute to give your conquest a boost at the start of each reset.

Anything else means you're not looking to maximise the output of your garrison, so it's probably just an alt you've not given any thought to. There needs to be more alternatives for buildings, particularly Medium and Large buildings. I'd say small buildings need more specialised buildings too, or ways to upgrade a type of building into a more specialised building, like a tannery could be upgraded to include a forge and allow mail items crafted there to include a tertiary stat, a forge could be upgraded to specialise in either weapons or armor and so on.

Garrisons destroyed the game, it's so sad..

I think I'd rather them spend their programming resources somewhere else next expansion.

No, they were for this expansion. But I'd like to see how they're used adapted and expanded. Could be player homes, or if the next expansion is based on water or something then it could be about upgrading a boat etc etc but I'd rather they're not central. I like the idea, I like garrisons but I'd rather they freshen it up next expansion.

I really enjoy my garrison and I'd hate to see the whole system become obsolete. I do hope there are more tweaks to promote customization and fun, and fewer aspects that are basically mandatory or a standalone game. Even a smaller and more simplified version of the garrison would be preferable to outright forgetting about it.

For instance, I see no reason to have a herb garden, mine, finishing shack, and menagerie all at the same time. Of these, I only really like the pet battle building; the fishing shack I only did for completion's sake; and the mine and garden are certainly nice for getting mats, but I'd rather not have that chore in the future.

Similarly, the follower missions should be retired. The whole mission command could be left exclusive for Draenor and I'm sure most of us would rather do stuff like that in game by ourselves. I like some of the follower NPCs, so having your favorites tag along as in the future would be nice. While many of them are generic inn recruits, some of the more followers we got through quests can stay. I mean (some of) the current bodyguards could easily remain by our side for future endeavors and some of the other more developed followers (those that were part of big quests like Magisters Serena and Krelas) can become bodyguards too even. Having them tag along for the new daily quests or similar stuff would be just enough.

if they scrap any part of the garrisons, like say the missions - or just gold reward missions, that would be the closest Blizz has ever come to admitting the entire feature was a mistake.
Besides when they admitted they wish they never added the pvp feature.

They are being scrapped. Blizz already stated this.

(Clarification) Scrapped meaning abandoned in the next expansion and possibly gutted so players can steamroll through without touching them.

Garrisons should have been personal housing that we could decorate and build upon similar to EQ2 or more recently Wildstar.

What should be scrapped is followers and all the nonsense attached to them. They're not fun to manage on multiple characters and leads me to not wanting to level more alts.

Hate hate hate. Get rid of them completely, never want to see that garbage again. Way back in May, on beta, I predicted every one of the problems we now see with them but funny enough no one listened.

Wildstar's player housing implementation is far superior, yes. The houses exist for players to be creative-- you can customize them beyond belief, with tons of decor, furniture, etc. They include a couple quests and a bit of resources, but are never the best way to get those things, just an alternative or supplement. If you aren't interested in customizing your house you can basically ignore it and not hurt yourself. Wildstar is the way to go. Rift did something similar also.

Unfortunate the rest of Wildstar is so terrible.

If they make the garrison account-wide, i would love it. It's just a bad decision having it separated per char, imo.

So, if it follows the same model as in WoD, i'd rather they remove them entirely.

It would be great to see guild members walking around in the garrisons, would give way to more social interaction etc. Great for RP too
I'm confused what the practical purpose of this would be outside of "social interaction with guild members", which you get plenty of by, idk, typing: "/g Hey guys, what's going on?" or something.

OT: Definitely need some changes, but keep the technology. Would be a HUGE waste of this entire expansion if the ONE feature it had was fully scrapped because people dislike the facebook game.
Still wondering why I play this game.
I'm a Rogue and I also made a spreadsheet for the Order Hall that is updated for BfA.

They said they are specific to draenor. So I doubt we'll see them in their current form. That said, they should have went with their initial plan. Let us put them wherever we wanted.
