The real problem with WoW today.

There is something to be said for proper content gating that has you experience different things before hitting end game. Attunements, slow gearing, raid bosses that hard hard checks on them. There are things you had to do as an individual and as a guild in order to progress and it took time and got people into many facets of the game. Now? You can get most of the gear you need sitting in your garrison. You go raid and then log for the rest of the week. I know which I would rather have.

My point being that you didn't actually have more to do.
You just did it in a way that doesn't feel dull - a way that felt interesting.

But alas, people cry for sanctuaries, teleports, queues and flying mounts.
And then they cry for world pvp, hardcore and vanilla.

Sorry, proper gating is more to do. Attunments? Yes, it was more to do since you had to do it before you could raid. You can have sanctuaries, teleports, queues and flying mounts and still have a good game with compelling gameplay.
