6.2 Cinematic

Hello people of MMO-C

I have a question, don't know if it has been posted already.. Is there any known time period between X.2 PTR announcement and release of the cinematic for that patch? Or is it just random when will they release the cinematic?

Isn't the order of operations normally a generic "PVP Season / Ahead of the Curve ending soooon" announcement. Then an "exact date the PVP Season will end" announcement. Then finally a patch date announcement accompanied by the trailer.

Sounds about right. The PvP announcement is usually a week or two before it ends.
The trailer I believe comes with the official announcement of the date, which oddly enough isn't apparently obvious enough for us when they say the PvP season is ending.

Not really. The only things we can use to gauge the release date of 6.2 is:

- Announcement of the end of the PvP season
- How far along the bosses are being tested on the PTR

And we usually get the patch cinematic a good month before the patch drops.

Current estimates at a 6.2 release put it in Late June - Early July, so we should get the cinematic around late May at the earliest.

Dunno if there'll be one, the end of the legendary questchain pretty much sets things up.

The patch trailer comes out at least a month before the release date, and sometimes a few weeks before that.

Pretty sure everyone here is thinking of expansion cinematics...

Patch ones are generally on the day, maaaaaaybe the day before, it hits live servers.

The intro and Outro cinematics for Archimonde is in the files atm. encrypted. i think. I know the spells are in for it.

Hmm, wonder if this means Hellfire Citadel is the last one. No reason they couldn't have cinematics in earlier raids, though - sort've like the in-game cutscenes in Throne of Thunder.
