Playing as Fury now. Is the new pot> than old war?

No its not. But its easier to get and the buff time is long. Given the price of old wars this one will do fine for anything outside of raids

Any insight on the new pot for protection?

Is it better for overall dps?
Logically it seems better for overall survivability, but armor pot is probably still better on a burst damage phase fight like ursoc?

For protection it is definetly usefull for survival - since str = ignore pain scaleing. It might not be best dps wise but becauae it last for 1min it can be used as a mini defensive cd (shades of tarannar) was particually good for example.

I'm definetly going to keep using it - you can look up Falck-ragnaros if you want to see the results for raiding (can't link)
