PvP currencies will be back in the next expansion

You heard it here first, There is no way they will continue having PvP as an option in the game, while not having any currency for someone to farm, to get that piece of gear that you need.

They will get back on the way rewards work in PvP in the next expansion.

I would hope that both PvE and PvP currencies will see a return. They're an excellent way of providing consistent, tangible, rewarding long-term progression, and I think if the combined them with some of the randomised mechanics they have right now we'd see the best of both worlds, with the excitement of unexpected drops combined with a supplemental safety net against bad RNG.

Unfortunately the degree to which Blizzard have embraced gambling psychology in their games as of late leaves me worried that this won't be the case. Fingers crossed.
