Do you name your characters seriously, casually or funny?

Most of mine for my old WoW toons were a result of the random name generator. Later on as I race/gender flipped various characters, I just used puns that featured my main's screen name; the name I use here on this forum is one such result.

warrior - Brownteam
and so on and so on

Just random/funny. I had a paladin in WOD called Dalarama, because when I got stuck in world PVP and bubble hearthed I set it up to /y Dalarama don't need no drama! ...then realised Horde couldnt read it anyway

I don't go for silly nor "casual" (in the sense of "flamehands", at least) but I hardly go by lore either. Want something that sounds like a name or nick and then I will re-use as often as I'm allowed. Unfortunately lost my fav recently when server transferring

Also EU (En-GB) client doesn't have the name generator. Why I don't know.

Oh but first char I created (when a friend showed me the game, so his acc) was a Blood Elf hunter named Veronicamars, so that counts as a stupid silly name But she looked like Kristen!

Three types of MMO names for our characters:

Serious players name their characters by lore or acceptable fantasy names like Leadwyn, Orgnar, etc. not necessarily RPers or perhaps you slightly altered a random name.

Casual players name their characters by whatever pops into their head that works, or don't see name as a big deal. Bowshooter, Flamehands, etc.

Funny players aim to make people laugh or chill out a bit with their character name being a pun or silly, or ironic. Harrydotter, Maulfurion etc.

Which are you? Which do the majority have if you do a bit of all 3?

A bit of both,

have a enh shaman called Stormborn

A frost mage calles frost

Then a dk tauren called Elternero, which means THE COW in spanish so yeah sometimes i dont give a fuck

Most names I see are prosaic. I do a mix of serious and fun/funny names.

I have something of a fetish for serious names. I always pick some name from fantasy books ive read, Steven eriksons Malazan series most notably. Ofc my main will always be Aphrel, as its the nick that accidently became mine a long long time ago.

I named me huntard Banard because i spelled Bernard wrong. ....that was 11 years ago....and now i use Banard for everything!

I try to keep my names related to the class fantasy in a way.

Death Knight: Dread.
Demon Hunter: Illidari.
Druid: Wild.
Hunter: Marksman.
Mage: Hypothermia.
Monk: Mistweaver (he's Windwalker spec with Brewmaster title, lol).
Paladin: Mograine, Reckoning.
Priest: Angelic, Shade.
Rogue: Pain, Guile.
Shaman: Volt.
Warlock: Malefic.
Warrior: Barbarian.
