What socialist country do you live in? 15gb a month, and thats your only option. I gotta tread lightly not to break 250 cap
Wait. The download is 40GB?
My download limit is 150GB, and is shared between three people. That could get difficult...
20gb seems more realistic.
come to think of it my WoW folder is 32gb.. (with like 2 addons)

Current DL is around 29 GB depending on language pack.
What many people may not realize is that even if there's no "hard" cap, many companies in America have a "soft" cap on internet usage. For example with my Cox cable internet plan it's 40 GB. You may never know it though, because while you may look at your data usage and have it say "you've gone over your limit", when you look closer they say there's no penalty for going over the arbitrary "limit"... at least not yet. I suspect they use it more as kind of an account flag, where they start to look more closely at what high usage users are actually using it for. Therefore just because you've got "unlimited" internet, don't think you can torrent 200GB a month and assume nobody's going to look into what you're downloading/uploading.
While America is nowhere near its total bandwidth capacity thus companies have no real reason to limit physical connections at this time, our usage is only going up, and it could reach that point someday. Just look at iPhone data packages. They used to be unlimited as a standard, but that was quickly changed when they saw an explosion in the sheer amount of data actually traversing their wireless datastreams. Now most plans are in the 2-5 GB limit range. Wireless bandwidth is much more limited than fiber-based land systems, and with the exponential growth of users (and services that require high usage) the wireless networks are in more danger of being overloaded than the much more established physical networks.
As stated, the client is a little over a 30gb download right now. If you can't download that much, buy a disc, but don't pre-order since you won't get into the early play.
Human progress isn't measured by industry. It's measured by the value you place on a life.
Just, be kind.
ah great.I think mine is 39GB hopefully it's less like some people are saying.
Reports are the beta client is 28gb. Might be reduced when extraneous code is removed, but I imagine most of it is voice files.
Unfortunately, you're fucked.
Either spend more on your internet, or move house to an area with better coverage. ISPs with caps aren't worth paying for.

Capped at 15 gigs a month? What ISP is that? I have Comcast and they cap theirs at 250 gigs a month which I find to be pretty limited. For instance, I can't use Netflix because I'll go over the cap in a week =/

Wait wait wait... The download is 40 gigs?!?!?! Damn, I've gotta start cleaning my damn HDD.
The current English DL client is 33gb. But they are right about compression; the initial download for Early Access folks will probably be slightly less. It should come with an installer than unpacks the files after download.
Also, to those who live with data caps, I'm sorry I'm sure Americans will be forced into that plan soon

While people are still debating on the size of the client and the OP's horric ISP, I would really like to reiterate to everyone that has a ISP with a soft or hard bandwidth cap that they most likely have a off peak free for all time and that they should really look into it if you are worried about the client size.
The final copy won't be 40 GB's, it's only a beta client. Hell, look at Rift, Rift was only 8 or so GB's. WoW has only reached about 20 GB's after 3 expansions, each with a substantial amount of content.
The final is going to be down to about 15-18 GB's I reckon.
The biggest ISP in the UK, BT has 40 gig a month limit, its been fine for years of gaming, no idea what todo with TOR though~
